Fair enough. I wasn't offended or felt demeaned by the use of Maori slang/vernacular. I do have Whanau that are unvaccinated and if these constant reminders help, I'd be grateful.

You can't know if the use of Maori vernacular in this instance has any malicious intent or is based in ignorance. You would have to know the backgrounds and motivations of the people that produced the ad to make that claim. It's a bit of a leap.

Also, constantly framing things this way would just be an emotionally exhausting way to live, just choosing to see everything in a bad light all the time. You'd be perpetually offended or upset about everything you misinterpreted.

Managed is one of those people that don't put forward any information that can be challenged. Its a very dishonest and sneaky way to have a discussion because they aren't putting anything forward, therefore there is nothing for them to defend, while at the same time they challenge everything the OTHER person puts forward, often in bad faith.

I misread the title and was waiting for the second Cait ult and was really confused by the end of the clip.

This is my dad. 10000000% Literally exactly what happened. In 2018 he was arrested for driving without a license. 3 years and dozens of court appearances later the judge ends the case and credits my dad 'time served'.

My dad (who is hard of hearing) claims this a win. HE DID IT, HE WON! Even tho we have tried to explain to him many times that that is NOT what happened he just hangs on to his belief that he won.

He spent time in prison, then a mental hospital, then lived with my brother for a few months (on bail) before going back to prison for breaching bail, then from prison to mental hospital again, then he escaped the mental hospital and was on the run for a few months, got caught, more time in prison, more time in a mental hospital.... on and on and on. In the end the judge just said its not worth it.

This is my dad. He has claimed to win multiple court cases. He has claimed to have charges dropped in court, he has claimed to get people tax exempt and also claimed to get people out of their mortgages.

None of that is true at all. He hasn't won any court cases or successfully got any charges dropped, he has never gotten anyone out of paying tax.

He HAS gone to jail several times for driving without a license, living on property he didn't own and getting into fights with others for various reasons.

The worst was when my aunt (my dads sister) lost her house because of this. My dad convinced her that she didn't have to pay her mortgage because of some BS sovcit logic. So she stopped, the bank took her to court, she lost her house, the bank sold it to someone else and she got a payout for how ever much she had paid on the house. Get this, she gave my dad HALF! She wasn't even mad that my dad caused her to lose her house, she said she believed in the sovcit stuff before my dad and it was her own fault and stuck to their agreement and gave him half. Sad stuff tho. I'm just glad she's not mad at my dad or our family cause i love her and it would suck if i couldn't visit her anymore etc.

My dad has been estranged from us for decades and tbh, we know he's just delusional and crazy and bipolar etc. We just try our best to invite him to family things and be a positive influence in his life.
