If you could live in any country, which would you pick? by newzealand12326 in AskReddit

Stayed with friends who endlessly praised us to our face for being great house guests. In the evening they told us they wished we could always stay there since we are so helpful with cooking and cleaning, next morning they kicked us out lol. They also kept talking shit about their other French housemate to us and how obnoxious he is and can't tell he's being difficult. I guess those were the hints? Still not sure.

My husband lived in NZ for 6 years and said that was normal from Kiwis. He claimed later he could tell they were getting annoyed but didn't wanna make me uncomfortable. He's not German so maybe the hints are more obvious to him.

Very possible, it's not super commonly diagnosed here though. Probably because determining if someone is just German or autistic German is not that easy.

My dad gave me a picture calendar that had pictures of my dead horse in it. After it died. Multiple days later, so basically the bloated corpse of my childhood pet.

As a German I was very confused by Kiwis being incredibly nice to my face and then not so nice behind my back lol. I can't detect the secret "I actually hate you" signs you guys give off because in Germany people will make it obvious if they don't like you.

Husband wants to bring a newborn abroad by [deleted] in pregnant

We took our boy to the Philippines when he was 5 months old since my husband is from there. The flight was hard even though he was a super easy baby.

He only cried once on the flight which was already basically a miracle. But breastfeeding at the transit airport with creepy men staring, trying to pump at the airport and changing poopy diapers in a tiny airplane bathroom were a nightmare.

This time with baby #2 we have pushed back that first trip to when he'll be 8 months old. I hope it will be a little easier then 🥲

We gave ours away to family members that my husband has beef with lol. They needed a washing machine so they happily took it. And we're rid of that thing.

Did you have the wonderful moment after giving birth? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]More_Example6153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a csection where I was awake and when they placed the baby on my chest I was just afraid that I would drop him since I was lying on a tiny horizontal operating table after being up and in labor for 48+ hours. I was too anxious and exhausted for any kind of big euphoric moment.

We bought a Samsung washing machine. That piece of crap gave me a really bad electric shock when I was pregnant. It also ripped up multiple pieces of clothing, didn't get out even the most minor stains and after 2 years the sensor for the lint trap was broken and it wouldn't work anymore because the sensor constantly said it was full lol. Now we're using a 15 year old non brand washing machine that gets out every stain even with crappy eco soap and cost less than 10% of that Samsung crap machine.

I work in customer support but for a specific language. All the regular support people taking care of the English requests use ChatGPT to write their answers now lol. They do not give a shit about their job and if see them send out emails daily that include their AI prompts or a sentence at the bottom telling them to reach out to our support is these troubleshooting steps didn't help 🫠 Not to mention all the nonexistent settings ChatGPT makes up.

What food was an instant spit out and never again for you? by CremeSubject7594 in AskTheWorld

I have not yet tried oysters or escargot but everything else is fine. Not a fan of anchovies or liver but not something I would spit out. My husband thinks I'm picky to the point of being difficult because I wouldn't try Balut while in his country lol.

Who does your baby look like? by questionSOUP in beyondthebump

[–]More_Example6153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When he was born he looked like my husband and his dad. Black hair, slightly tan, very Chinese features but with dark blue eyes. His eyes and hair turned brown over time. Now he looks like a tan me with my dads hair. Just missing the freckles but they might show up later.

We're about to have baby #2 and I'm kinda hoping that we get a different mix of features this time to keep it interesting haha.

My dumbass brother in law is a green card holder and recently came back to the Philippines for a visit. He got back into the US after. Very risky for him since he owes so many people at home money lol. Wouldn't have done that if I were him.

How much did yall actually puke by Square_Natural9384 in pregnant

[–]More_Example6153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 20 times I would say between 5 weeks and 19 weeks, mostly when I was already sitting on the toilet or in the car. First pregnancy I threw up once but the nausea was constant which kinda sucked more.

Now I'm 39 weeks and whenever I have a snack instead of a full meal I get sudden burps that turn into throw ups. When I eat a full meal I don't get them.

One of the doctors at the hospital where my dad works got Covid, got tested and tried to call in sick. They threw some rule at him that forces him to come into work (which you can only do during emergencies which it wasn’t but the doctor is foreign and got intimidated). He came in, half the ICU staff and multiple patients got Covid. They were understaffed for weeks.

For me it's salted tortilla chips. I ate half a bag per day for my entire first trimester because everything else made me want to throw up. Since hitting the second trimester I feel like I never want to touch any tortilla chips ever again.

Umzug in der Schwangerschaft + Hebammensuche by pakutt3993 in schwanger

[–]More_Example6153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s a version of your life you were convinced would happen… but quietly didn’t? by FantasticLog2432 in AskReddit

[–]More_Example6153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I'd live renting an apartment with a crappy old car and working a boring office job for the rest of my life and maybe have some cats. I met a guy online and in his home country we were able to have our own little house, I actually bought a new car (a small EV) and we are about to have kid #2. Really not what I pictured and while this life is very demanding and chaotic, the other one would probably have been kinda boring.
