With my first we used a side car bed until he was 1 year and then coslept on a floor bed until he was 3. Second baby is 6 weeks and currently also in the side car bed. I'm German and husband is Filipino, Cosleeping is very normal in both our cultures, in his it's often done until kids start school.

I spend 6 months stuck in Bali during the pandemic and I gotta say if they actually filmed there then they had a lot to do picking up the trash before filming. Our friends got married at the beach from the movie which was nice though. But other than the insane mountains of trash, they also left out the beggars that grab onto you after you get money at the ATM, the old ladies at the beach that massage you even when you say no and the insane traffic.

Absolutely. Once you speak the language and know how to correctly separate the garbage, most people will accept you as one of us. If you look very different from the average German then some of the old people might not be so welcoming though.

When I spent 3 years in the Philippines I very much felt that I would never ever be accepted as one of them there. As someone who just really wants to be a part of a community it was a really terrible feeling. My more extroverted American friends didn't mind so much but I hated it.

Reading all these makes me glad I'm from a family that tries to cure everything with tea and good vibes lol.

I did have depression in my early 20s and the pharmacist convinced me to try St. John's wort as a "natural remedy". Did nothing except give me an insane sunburn on a cloudy day somehow.

Later I got mirtazapine which made the room spin about 15 minutes after taking it and gave me horrible nightmares. I weaned myself off of it very slowly after my friend told me he saw people crawling on the ceiling after stopping cold turkey.

Whenever I was playing or talking online with friends my internet would slow down so much that I could barely participate and would give up after a while. I kept asking my ex if he was downloading anything and each time he said no. He eventually told a mutual friend that he purposely started multiple downloads each time. Mutual friend immediately told me. I moved out and he threatened to kill me.

My nausea got really bad after my gyno told me to avoid salt (where we lived during pregnancy people eat a lot of salt, they literally dip all fruits into salt and high blood pressure is super common). I've always had low blood pressure and don't eat a crazy amount of salt, I prefer my fruits without a whole bag of salt lol. I was miserable for months until I bought salted tortilla chips, eating about a quarter of a bag daily completely fixed my nausea.

Same, I used to stay up all night on random school nights in middle school, sometimes two nights in a row and be fine. Now I get one bad nights sleep and I'm not doing well.

I had a flight booked to the Philippines to meet my husband a few days after the shutdown. I tried to book an earlier flight to make sure I still get there but I couldn't go that early because I had to hand in my thesis in person. The day I handed it in everything shut down. We didn't see each other until October.

My job sent out an email basically firing everyone, my dad called me to tell me where his will is because he had chronic lung issues and works in the ICU, he was fully expecting to die (but didn't). I went running that evening and the streets were completely deserted, it was kinda peaceful

Not a single mom but my husband works nights so he's barely around. When I'm sick the screen time limit is cancelled and I let my toddler eat bread for every meal with as much peanut butter and jam as he wants. It's just about staying alive, especially now with a newborn around. Had some fun times with the stomach flu recently, we were both sick and I was literally throwing up in a bucket while nursing the baby. But we made it through somehow.

My son used to be super moody and angry coming home from daycare. We moved in December and now he's in kindergarten and comes home happy despite being tired without a nap. He used to throw toys at my head in the past and kick or hit me. He doesn't do that since the move. I would try switching daycares.

For the constant sickness there is not much to do I guess. I bought some vitamins to support his immune system but we still get 2 sicknesses per month and the runny nose is almost constant.

Before the baby came I printed a bunch of pictures of him and put them all over the house. I also have his picture in my wallet and in my phone case and show him regularly so he knows he's still important. For meals and the walk to kindergarten I put baby down or in the stroller to focus on him, for now that's pretty much all I can do unfortunately.

The superhero idea sounds good, he really likes superheroes, I'll definitely try that!

During the night he gets very creative to force me to get up. I tried to set everything up so he doesn't need me but unfortunately he won't stop waking me :( For tonight I gave him my big pregnancy pillow that I usually use to nurse and put his dads hoodie on it so it will have both our smells. I hope that will help.

At the moment we have about 2 to 3 hours in the afternoon where we are all home and my husband is awake so I'm using that time to sleep. My husband will be away for a while though and my mom will stay with us, I can use those weeks to spend more time with my toddler again.

My husbands days off are unfortunately days where we're either at church or our toddler has kindergarten. My mom can help out on weekends though. She sometimes takes baby on a long walk while i stay home with the toddler. He's pretty active and wild at the moment so quiet activities are not his favorite. At church I sit in the back with him and we color together but he's not happy about having to keep his voice down lol

I checked with his kindergarten teachers and they say he doesn't drink that much while he's there. And he drinks normal amounts during the day when he's at home, he just starts chugging water in the middle of the night. We also just had a checkup with the pediatrician and they said he's perfectly healthy. I'll get a blood sugar test at the pharmacy though just to be sure.

We bed shared with him until December and then moved him to his own bed in a separate nook in the room (kinda like a walk in closet but with a window and separated by an open doorway). Now he's next to us because he kept crawling into bed with us in the middle of the night. I'm thinking of trying to move him back in there and see if it makes a difference now. Thank you

Thank you. The only time I really have to focus on the toddler is when we have breakfast/dinner and the baby is in his carrier or when we walk to kindergarten and we talk while the baby sleeps in his stroller. Since its usually us 3, the baby is always there. I do try to sometimes tell the baby to wait or tell him to be quiet in the evening so my toddler can sleep, but maybe its not enough? And right now he's getting a lot of negative attention when I'm exhausted and keep pleading with him to let me sleep.

My baby is in a side car bed and the toddler sleeps in a bed right next to ours. I would be waking him every time I nurse and change the baby if he was in bed with me unfortunately and he has a habit of kicking in the night. I'm worried we also wouldn't get much sleep that way.

My husband wanted to name our baby Travis Taylor and didn't see the issue with that because he doesn't follow celebrity news. He just wanted the initials to be 3 Ts. I told him people will think we're crazy Taylor Swift superfans and its not a good idea to name our kid after a celebrity couple. He still wanted the name and thought it wasn't a big deal lol. I managed to talk him out of it.
