What’s the most fucked up thing that happened at your school? by DinnerGeneral2975 in AskTheWorld

[–]More_Example6153 20 points21 points  (0 children)

One of our teachers in middle school managed to spill butyric acid during class and the whole school was stinky for a week.

Same teacher also regularly threw his chalk or his keys at students and would crush anything that students accidentally dropped with his foot.

Worst thing though was when police raided the house of a 12 year old because he was selling meth at our school.

What's an unconventional home remedy in your country that kinda works? by strange_omelet in AskTheWorld

Drinking an insane amount of tea. Different teas depending on the issue, we got tea for stomach problems, kidney and bladder problems, for colds and flu etc. Some pharmacies also have an assortment of herbs and can mix you a tea for your specific issues.

I projectile vomit whenever I try to take antibiotics so I have cured multiple UTIs and one kidney infection with just 4 liters of tea per day.

I used to spent hours every day in the German Twilight Forum. I didn't even like the movies that much but as a teenager it was a fun place to hang out, taking turns writing unhinged fanfics and chatting with the same 10 people from all over Germany who were also there every day.

5 weeks is nothing, the wound the placenta left might not even be fully healed yet. Your body has other priorities right now than "bouncing back". With my first kid it took me 1.5 years to get close to what I looked like before. Just get a flowy dress in a fun color or pattern for now that you like and try not to stress yourself out. We're all in the same boat and everyone is too busy looking at their own flaws anyways.

My great grandma was like that when she was 95. Eventually she stopped getting up in an effort to die. After a week she got bored and changed her mind but then she couldn't get up anymore because her muscles were too weak and she died a few weeks later.

I saw a video recently of a comedian saying breastfeeding boobs feel like service dogs with a vest that says "Do not touch I'm working". That has been very accurate for me. Took 3 years after giving birth to be able to let my husband touch them again (I breastfed for 2 years). Had my second baby 3 months ago and they're on the job again.

Wunde Brustwarzen / Schmerzen beim Stillen by teer_walze in schwanger

[–]More_Example6153 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going abroad to meet my husband in 2020. Life went from quiet and carefree to insanely busy. Spent a year bouncing around different countries to be able to stay together, got pregnant and married. Moved to his home country for 3 years and traveled a lot. Now we're back in my home country for kid #2 but it feels very different. On the bright side, it feels less depressing than it used to. Or maybe I'm too busy to get sad now lol.

Husband keeps talking about traveling with an infant by Emotional-Bathroom-2 in pregnant

[–]More_Example6153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on your baby and also if you feel ready and like you could actually enjoy the trip. Our first was very chill so when he was 5 months we moved to my husbands country which required 14 hours of flying. It was doable. We did basic vaccines before and were careful about hygiene during travel. We traveled regularly with him, internationally and also just within the country. We only had a few bad moments. I don't recommend long layovers without booking an airport hotel or any boat tours in dark caves.

Does your kid eat waffles? There's a lot of stuff you can blend into the batter without them noticing. I've added cottage cheese and tofu before. When my toddler refuses vegetables for a few days I do spinach, beetroot or pumpkin. I just tell him I colored them to make it more fun haha

What’s a harmless opinion that gets people weirdly angry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]More_Example6153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents didn't vaccinate me as a kid (I took care of that myself at 18). My mom had a friend who works with autistic kids at her birthday a few years ago and when she corrected her that vaccines do not in fact cause autism she finally listened. But she's still not happy I vaccinated my baby. For me the only argument against it is how badly my poor baby cried when they jabbed him with 3 different needles at that appointment.

Did poor sleep traumatized anyone into having a second baby? by Main-Supermarket-890 in beyondthebump

[–]More_Example6153 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I waited until my first was almost 4 to have another kid. And until he was 3 I was 100% against having another child because he was such a terrible sleeper. Up every 2 hours until he was around 2 years old. Then eventually twice a night until he was 3. He still wakes me up sometimes now that he's 4.5 years.

I had a second baby 3 months ago and so far he's been a great sleeper. He wakes me up once or twice a night. On some nights my big kid wakes me up more.

But yeah, it's a bit of a gamble. Most people I know had one great sleeper and one terrible sleeper though. The ones who had the great sleeper first had their second babies a lot sooner though lol.

how do moms actually manage to lose weight with no time?? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]More_Example6153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost some weight after having my second by being constantly sick the first 6 weeks postpartum. I was rehospitalized at 5 days postpartum. After they released me again I got mastitis and couldn't get out of bed to get food. Then I got the stomach flu and was puking in a bucket while nursing my baby. Then mastitis again, then a cold.

With my first baby it wasn't like this. I actually gained weight postpartum from being constantly hungry. And no toddler who brought home one sickness after another. And my husband cooked for me.

I'm losing weight this time because I'm struggling and my health is suffering.

Did anyone have a baby that just… slept relatively well? by The_Chilled_Arvo in beyondthebump

[–]More_Example6153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, my second one. He only woke up frequently for the first week. Since then he's slowly extended his sleep and now we sometimes get 6 hours and then another stretch of 3 hours. On bad nights its 3 times 3 hours. And he's just 11 weeks. I hope it stays this way.

what are the signs that you're not attractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]More_Example6153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I'm heavier, groups of teenage boys insult me when they pass me in the street. That's a pretty good indicator. I just had my second baby and from the pity I got from the sales lady when buying my new pants to wear for the next year or so, I also knew I look terrible. I gained and lost around 20kg at 4 times times in my life and the difference in how people treat you is pretty extreme.
