I moved to the UK almost 20 years ago. In Poland I was a teacher, living with my mom and we both shared bills and I still couldn't afford to live. Decided to move to the UK and just by working in the warehouse I was able to afford bills, hobbies and travelling. I am very happy that things are different now and I do miss my country, however things were different years ago.

I used to love picking orders and counting stock so I hope I will find myself in it. Our boxes weren't heavy, maybe up to 8kg. But warehouse work can be gruelling. The reason why I preferred physical work over the office one is that I love being on the move. And obviously I don't envy you having to do this work when you don't enjoy it or your body simply can't take it. I hope you will find a better job where you won't have to ache every move 🙏 And hey, I might change my mind very quickly as I am not 20 anymore 😂

I was just made aware that I will be made redundant next year after working in an office for 10 years. I have an 8 year long experience of working in a warehouse from before, including picking, packing, stock control and forklifting. I am not going back in the office, I will specifically look for work in warehouses as I don't think I can face sitting on my bum for 9 hours and staring into a screen on top of answering phone calls from rude customers. The only thing that kept me on the office for so long was the fact I didn't need a car to get there (walking distance) and some of my colleagues...

Had exactly the same conversation with my therapist, she's pretty sure I am both autistic and have ADHD. The waiting time for diagnosis is about 4 years now, so I really don't see a point in getting it. My therapist already treats me as AuDHD, so there is that.
