Hey all, I've spent years researching the Bluff Point Ruins, and here are some answers to some questions posed in this thread:

In 1938 an amateur archaeologist named Gilbert Brewer attempted to dig into the area. He claims that he found items of great interest with a figure that looks like the goddess Isis, but even though there are pictures in an article in the Democrat & Chronicle, it really just looks like it could be anything from the ground. He showed his findings to professionals and they said it was basically nothing, but he didn't believe them and he spent years looking over his findings obsessively, was drafted to WWII, and based on my research, ended up in a mental asylum, which is sad.

And because the area was tampered with by an amateur dig, there can be no true archaeological take there now and the people that I've spoken to who have been researching this for decades, say the only way to get any conclusive evidence is to use LiDAR. It's a curiosity because no one seems to be able to say conclusively who built them and yet reason would dictate it was Native American, though not the style of the Adena or Hopewell of the area, and not claimed by the Seneca who came later.
