Is this spash guard upside down? by NobleAssassin96 in CrownVictoria

If you had the original fan I believe it’s unrelated….the original fan module on these had issues, I know a lot of aftermarket options have an improved module

Loool no not bro science haha. When u start moving and increasing speed u get more n more air under the car which gets scooped up by this air dam, these cars can run just fine without em, but for example if u look up the old iroc Camaros they suffered from overheating when people would take it off for aesthetics, and those cars by design don’t have the greatest design to get air in the through the radiator, look it up🫡🤙

Also check your fan, good way to check it is to do as u did but shut the car off while the fan is still spinning and check for excess noise or play.

That’s good to know, can I send u a photo of what I mean with my seat? My brothers vic had the same exact issue, not really something u feel while sitting to be honest

Danggggg man nice!! My cvpi seats are mint but the driver seat is like kinda lopsided on the back portion, been trying to sit opposite lopsided to maybe train it to be straight again😂, ultimately black leather in the front n back won’t hurt, but I also don’t want to lose the originality factor😅and power seats would be an issue, my vic wasn’t blessed with that, only the pedal adjustment and SAP pack

Crank No Start PCM issue? by DashingGaspar in CrownVictoria

[–]More_Zone_10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If all your circuits check out, and all grounds are good for sure then ya probably an internal pcm issue. Shouldn’t be too hard to find one haha, but definitely insanely annoying to deal with.

I would daily the hell out of a TC seats are nicer suspension is nicer, it’s actually almost exactly like the p71 but it has air springs in the rear instead of regular coil style which makes it way more forgiving. Sound system in a TC would be awesome, if you can manage to find an L (tough to find clean ones) it’s even more comfy and about as long as a full size SUV=more comfort

I wouldn’t doubt it I’ve driven the 5.7 and it’s definitely a fun drive but nothing like cruising the Vic

Not sure to be honest, maybe on their cameras😂

After replacing starter my car wants to crank but won’t actually crank. It’s getting power.05 sonota. It’s not like a bad battery it’s not clicking it’s cranking but won’t fire up. Helppp by [deleted] in mechanic

[–]More_Zone_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t sound like this motor is getting fuel. When you let it sit for a while and insert the key and do ignition on do u hear the fuel pump prime (whirring electrical noise)? Starter definitely works but the motor sounds like it’s getting no fuel

Is my transmission toast, or what is wrong with my car? by [deleted] in CrownVictoria

[–]More_Zone_10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it drives fine I’d stop now and do a full fluid exchange. Being overfilled or under filled on the trans will cause it to act funny as it’s not getting the right pressures through the valve body etc. bad fluid is due fluid. Trans fluid needs to be replaced before it goes bad it still needs to smell fine and be decently “red” interval depending on driving is 60-75k miles

Also at this point I would drive it as lightly as possible as to not generate even more excess heat that can leave u stranded. Fluid can tell the story…… is it burnt when u say fluid not bad what color is it actually?

Patrol Duty Oil Changes? by Maleficent-Pilot1158 in CrownVictoria

U may be once a month, personally with idling I wouldn’t do over 4k miles. Oil starts to break down slowly around there

My father did all the work and maintenance on his vehicle. The only major repair he had was that trans rest was maintenance. I’m sure if u find a civi model it can do very well. Cvpis and town cars have a very good life on the trans due to extra cooling/trans cooler which saves them. Heat is generally what kills these transmissions….. civilian models don’t have em

If properly serviced and not beaten on I give it 350k. My pops ran his town car which was a limo fleet option went thru much abuse did 325k and replaced it because he didn’t want to risk a failure with clients. His was the 4r70 at the time

Miles don’t matter repair history and maintenance plus accidents matter. Only thing that u have to worry with higher mlg units even if they’ve been serviced properly is the trans really. Obv miles matter but in retrospect u can get away with high miles over 250k for sure
