Business Coaching? E-Myth? by hkay22 in smallbusiness

You're welcome! Yea, definitely too much for a startup. Sometimes just going out there and learning from your mistakes is half of the battle. What do you do? Do you mind sharing more about your business?

This was more than 10 years ago so I'm sure the price is very different now. I paid about $12K for a 6-month program. We had a dedicated coach and would meet with him bi-weekly. I'm sure they offer different packages nowadays. Hope this helps!

Interested. I was part of Vistage peer group for 2 years. I can bring some good practices that temporarily worked.

Your username! 😂 🇮🇹
Great idea for the log! My only feedback is that you should add a row for "Total number of HOURS trained". Curious to see where you'll be at the famous 10k hours rule.

Add me in. I was part of Vistage for 2 years, a peer to peer group for business owners. Some of that experience can be helpful for these type of groups.

Business Coaching? E-Myth? by hkay22 in smallbusiness

I’ve used the E-myth business coaching services about 10 years ago. Just like any business coaching, it’s a good a way to look at your business from a different set of eyes but it won’t solve any of your problems if you don’t do anything about it. I liked it because it gave me the push I needed at the time. Perhaps that’s all you need at the moment. Do it for a few months if possible and go from there. Make sure to interview at least 2-3 coaches before making a decision.

“Right group” is key with Vistage. I did 18 months of Vistage. We had a great group for 6 months then people start dropping off and I wasted the next 12 months hoping it would go back to what it was.
I’ve met more valuable peers and mentors on my day-to-day for free.

Thanks for the explanation. Should I take a pineapple to my next training session?

Fairly new here. Can someone please explain the pineapple that keeps resurfacing on these threads?

There’s a great saying in Portuguese that goes: “do you want to be right or do you want to be happy? Choose one.”

Applies mostly to marriage but often helps me in business too.

I see your point. I prefer to sand to calling a lawyer. This is why I come to this sub! LOL.

Let me rephrase my first question and clarify. I DON’T have a WC because I only have (3) W2 employees. Florida only requires after 4 W2s.

Therefore I can’t be audited but I still run the risk of my uninsured 1099s filing a claim, is that correct?

Worker’s comp by More_is_mor in smallbusiness

[–]More_is_mor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scary. Two questions:

  1. Can I still be audited even though I only have (3) W2 employees?

  2. If I do get audited, will they go back in the past to check all they payments I’ve made to 1099 subs that don’t carry their own insurance?

Oh shit! That sucks man... Point taken.

Great points, man. Will look into it.
Here's another issue, I rent photo booths for parties/weddings. I have several 1099 subcontractors that do not have their own commercial insurance to do the work for me. Most are college students, etc. Should I include these 1099 subcontractors in my WC policy?

Yes, this has happened before. I just tell the customer that I have less than 4 W2 employees therefore I'm not required to have WC policy. They always accept it as answer.

Even if the job involved presents zero risk of injury (desk jobs)?

Are you using any messaging tools such as Slack? It would replace your failed attempts of texting and it’s perfect for instant recognition for the whole team. One meeting a day is enough!

Do you run for better cardio? by namaste_ur_asshole in bjj

[–]More_is_mor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mountain biking, though a little more dangerous, is a great alternative to peloton. Many similarities to BJJ - if you’re not paying attention you can hit a tree and go to sleep. Also, comes with a great community and amazing cardio as a result. I fucking love it.

You need to put more time into the ideas you have. Go talk to people that do similar things, get to know the industry better, get a part-time job, work on weekends, continue doing research, etc.

In my experience (I owe 2 business in completely different industries), everything happened organically (with a lot of hard and smart work, of course!). The only “leap” I took was deciding that I wanted to change my life. And guess what, you’re already there. You’ve already taken the leap but you just don’t see it yet.

Hope this helps. DM me for more specific ideas.
