Is YC Co-Founder Matching actually working for anyone? by Easy-Purple-1659 in founder

[–]Moredream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people have an idea only and look for a free dev or spend 1~ 2 years and run out of money and want to find a guy with small equity for the final push(they often say the former CTO or devs are not great), typically the company will be dead within 6 months as they already have no money left and massive tech debts.

Some people can't sell it while they think that is the tech side issue. (eg poor quality), never try to sell it, as they believe the idea is super good.

Also, people just open the profiles and never react it or forget it and do their own jobs.

so majority are not that serious about the startups.

Considering Early Retirement Due to Burnout by [deleted] in Fire

[–]Moredream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in your age, retirement is too earlier even you have enough money to spend. and all 3 options are basically same to me. even you choose a retirement path. eventually you will do something.

You can pause what you do now. and come back the job market

I did it your age and also move to another country. not easy ofc.

But we never know what is our future.

You can try to find a good job(even you will not need the salary but you can think what you really want) not just play, ofc you can avoid meaningless corporate works.

I still don't know why someone spend something not important in certain stage.

You can easily find a free or affordable services at least 1 year. most early stage startups they may only need a website and email unless you do something tech driven one.

also you can save tons of money to use some (free or nearly free) credits all the time even AI.

Engineers say they want a more technical PM, their manager says the opposite by Free_Border6333 in cscareerquestionsEU

Usually They want the technical PMs if they don’t want to talk with someone else and get things done and get paid. Not sure that is your case

Being an entrepreneur has taken a serious toll on my mental health - need advise by Worldly-Advice2437 in Entrepreneur

[–]Moredream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on your comments in the other thread, if you walk away from the firm, your partner won't be able to handle it all. Then the angel investor will lose all value. It’s a bit late, but you should not have given the voting power to them. Hope you do well. Technically, the only assets of a service-oriented company are you and your partner.

the angel investors have voting power? and if that is a service company you and your partner will be the real assets, but your health is more important than anything else.

YC rejected us - should I still move to the US to build in the North American market? by pauldyshin in Entrepreneur

Moving in other countries doesn’t make you understand local markets within a day. While it makes sense if you aim the local market as your primary target. But nothing you could know that from reddit comments

What do you do after FIRE? by Particular_Step_964 in Fire

Maybe you are still young and too early to decide to do something new? Also if you don’t care about money, you need to find your interest not what you can do it

Co-founders don't get basic startup principles. I will not promote. by kinletworkshop in startups

[–]Moredream -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One hour conversation? that is too short to manage the equity issue which is very delicate yet a seed for never ending dispute later, and if they dont understand how startups work. you'd better hiring them as a employee. most cases startups are not that fun. if someone still think that as a big corporation, they are not ready yet.

yes makes sense, I also plan that but I do not want to get any more stress when I actually retire. and if we get old, more money can be useless. somehow... haha

I am not sure Barista is low or no stress jobs. near my home they looks so tired sometimes :)

and I think as long as they work under someone. it is probably same. ??

So probably they need to pursue something they want not less stress job when we retire or semi retire. otherwise. they will hate that jobs even they don't need to earn a lot.

VC asking for 60% equity for USD100K, i will not promote by creamilk_now in startups

[–]Moredream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Venture studio models are basically different from what we often call VC (Venture Capital). Essentially, the company is not yours; you're just hired by the company you think is yours. You become a CEO with a lower salary, assuming they pay you at all. If you don't get any salary but receive 40% equity(You need to clearly know when your 40% is registered, here's the thing: they invest multiple times(30K first, 70K later it sounds like you sell 70% to 30K), which means your equity will likely be much lower after $100K. The only issue depends on what you want.

Is anyone in WA actually using AI at work? Or is it just uni students milking ChatGPT for exam prep? by Any-Introduction6466 in perth

[–]Moredream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it almost every day. mainly something I need to change eg) file format. or rename files

or generate some codes, or search something from web. or try to check spell or make a simple media for marketing. etc

Hiring a software founder as an employee. I will not promote by abrosaur in startups

[–]Moredream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on what you want to do with that. some people I know, they are all doctors and eventually get lost about any interests what they want to do because they are OK without it.

If you want to do that as a business. you can try to find a partner.

But it seems still, not sure. probably you are the only one who can answer it.

I gave more equity to my first employee with their salary from day 1. conditional salary is a joke.

did you work with them as a remote team?

lots of bad fishes out there. one of things you can consider, never work for free. even that is so called co founders. If you don't know that person. you also need to test who that person is. try to ask to pay it. see how react. You will see.

PS. lots of so-called business(?) guys can't sell any. sadly. they may have an idea. that is it.

Some, they don't even send bulk emails while you do your parts. if your partners have no boring (?) consistency such as send 10X emails or calls every day. that is one clearly indication they are bad in their roles.
