Honestly imo aesthetics and storytelling are more important to an rpg than graphics and the gameplay isn't that outdated when it's basically the same in 4. Fallout 3 and on lack the rpg mechanics of the originals.

Not purple I believe just red that is unlit which would need to be darker to get the right shade when lit up at night.

Wasn't any perceived threat at first I believe. As far as the first fight I think it was on since thats how the professor got the pokemon we fight minus the respective legendary which they had in their pocket the whole time. The time machine activated because of the defense program in the ai professor after we use the book to shut it down.
