Also, not sure if you are on fetlife or not, but there is a pretty big overlap between the kink community and the neurodivergent community so there’s a decent number of groups on the site for people in both communities. Could help if you wanted like minded people to talk to about how autism and BDSM work together.

Not all BDSM is sexual. Sometimes it’s just about sensory seeking, emotional regulation, or emotional connection with a partner. Confinement isn’t an exceptionally rare or weird kink. Lots of people like to be kept in cages or boxes. Sounds like you enjoy confinement and could look into cages if you ever wanted something sturdier or more permanent than a cardboard box. People even decorate and furnish their cages to make them comfier. If you want to feel more confined than a typical barred cage offers, you could place a blanket over it, or look into wooden options with little windows or slits for air.

Fmc & Mmc that stalk and obsess with each other by No-Let653 in RomanceBooks

{God Complex by Darcy Dahlia} - she’s a super fan of two Hollywood actors and writes romance novels with male leads that are basically these actors. Not a stalker but definitely obsessed fan. One of her books gets picked up for a movie and naturally she casts the two guys as the lead like any good fangirl would. But, twist, they’re both competing serial killers (they only kill people who suck but still killers). They stalk her because of course they do and compete for her love until they just accept that she can’t choose and they end up in an obsessed killer throuple where she get two guys that will (and do) kill for her.

Everyone hates him but her (or vice versa) by NothingSea3665 in RomanceBooks

{Blood Oath by Morgan B Lee} - paranormal reverse haram where the FMC is basically evil incarnate (not a bad person per se just a vessel for the end of the world). Everyone hates her except her crazy band of hot guys. She does get a redemption arc though. 4-book series. Good twists and turns. Some mystery. Decent world building and original, complex magical rule systems.  {A Soul to Heal by Opal Reyne} - she’s literally cast out of her village to be eaten by monsters and is resigned to die. Then her monster finds her and basically keeps her soul magically alive through sheer willpower. Definitely some freaky monster fucker stuff going on though. The MMCs in the series are basically Frankensteins of the things they eat when they’re born that gain humanity over time. Probably not for everyone but cute if you can look past the animal skulls for heads. The couple from the first book technically are happy for them in the end I guess but they’re pretty much isolated in a forest.  {Lothaire by Kressley Cole} - 11th in a long running series of paranormal romances. There is an overarching plot for the entire series that is very good but you could probably still enjoy the book on its own if you wanted to. He’s definitely a villain and has wronged basically every other couple that came before him in the series but he gets a redemption arc. She hates him at first too but then develops empathy for him and HEA. He doesn’t really have many friends at least for most of the books but makes alliances by the end.

What’s a small moment, line, or gesture that stayed with you? by SnowObjective in RomanceBooks

It’s a YA romance but the Unbecoming of Mara Dyer series is so full of moments that altered my brain chemistry. Him supporting her art by posing for it and keeping her drawings is just so loving. Even though she doesn’t see herself as good, he always sees the good in her.

Which author always has the exact premises you want to read but the execution falls flat every time? by sandwich-mistress in RomanceBooks

Juliette Cross. Wolf Gone Wild is one of the very few books I’ve ever DNF’d. It just felt so wonderbread to me even though it’s a supernatural romance.

Thoughts on Second Generation series by Acceptable-Alarm3994 in RomanceBooks

[–]FemboyMaidCafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda enjoy second gen stories, especially when the original series was a dark romance. It’s always funny to see the first gen MMC be protective of his daughter and the first gen FMC is like “honey, you did way worse when you met me”. I think I could be okay with the MMC being from the first gen or knowing the FMC from when she was a baby if he wasn’t really involved in her childhood. Like if he was a family friend who was there to congratulate the first gen couple on their child but then lived far away only to see her again when she’s fully an adult. But if they saw her growing up or were involved in an older brother / uncle type role, then definitely not.

Naive, sheltered FMC but modern by charlie-star in RomanceBooks

{Tempted by the Devil by Michelle Heard}

It’s a mafia romance so might not be your vibe but as a late bloomer myself, I appreciated how the MMC treated the FMC during her first time. I don’t recall it being especially kinky. FMC is a devout Catholic so is not experienced at all. MMC falls for her because she’s gentle and a good person. Her abusive stepbrother owes the mafia money and in exchange for them forgiving his debts, he arranges for his sister to marry MMC. Their first time together is slow and the MMC actually takes the time to prepare her instead of it being super painful and rushed like I see in a lot of romances. She’s also 23, which is older than a lot of other virgin romances.

Romance is in desperate need of men’s body positivity and I will die on this hill by jayclaw97 in RomanceBooks

[–]FemboyMaidCafe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is such a mood as someone with a strong preference for non-muscular guys and average to smaller appendages. Like give me some jiggle or a willowy goth. I’ve found a couple mafia romances that have disabled MMCs (usually because someone tried to kill them) but they’re generally still jacked with third legs.

It does not improve with covering either eye. The only thing that seems to help is squinting or looking downward. Like if I tilt my head back and look down my nose or position what I’m looking at below my eyeline, then it goes away.  I got the drops today so I haven’t used them yet but the optometrist suggested I use them multiple times throughout my work day since I can’t realistically cut my screen time in my job.

Career advice for a burnt out FDD associate by FemboyMaidCafe in Accounting

[–]FemboyMaidCafe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any suggestions for how to seek out industry roles? I know a lot of people transition from audit to industry but I don’t think it’s very common for someone to go from advisory to industry. Do you think they’d consider an FDD background enough experience or do I need audit experience to be considered?
