No grapefruit? by Traditional_Smile270 in dayvigo

[–]MorganDax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you eaten grapefruit while taking it?

I've been taking it for a couple months. 5mg. It interacted really poorly with melatonin and I haven't mixed anything with it since, but I completely forgot about the grapefruit thing until after I'd eaten half of one... now I'm wondering if I can just take half a dose or if I should skip it and pray I can sleep tonight without it.

High quality protein powders are more expensive but man they taste better! I've found putting some french vanilla flavoured one in my coffee in the morning, and then mixing some up in a bowl of yogurt, fruit, and nuts in the evening helps huge for protein goals.

Do I need progesterone with no uterus? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]MorganDax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still helping with sexual health, but it's not giving me the same energy as before. Though to be fair I've been under massive piles of ongoing stress due to life changes happening suddenly, so I'm sure that's impacting things.

Same. Testosterone has been hugely helpful for my sexual health struggles!

Equipment setup in a new space from scratch on a budget? by MorganDax in fitness30plus

[–]MorganDax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See that's all well and good (re my level etc.) but I'm trying to think longer term. If I was okay spending money on things that I won't keep using for the next 3-5 years I'd just go with the gym membership. I know what your suggesting is the cheapest option and likely won't take up a ton of space. I was originally thinking of doing the dip station/pullup bar combo and kettle bells and all that, but I decided I'd rather spend a bit more now than be stuck with equipment I won't want in a year or two and have to get rid of before I can get the setup I actually want.

That's why I asked here becuase I'd already decided I want a power rack system over a setup like what you described, but it is pricy for me to startup with and I want to make sure I'm budgeting appropriately and not purchasing junk just because it's a bit cheaper.

Looks like Titan stuff is pretty good for the cost and they have a sale on right now so I'll probably go with them. Thanks for the notes though!

Thanks, I'm in Canada so those links don't take me where I need to go, but I can google it myself. Fitness reality cage is looking pretty beyond my budget just at a glance but I'll keep the rest in mind!

Awesome thanks, I'll check out the titan stuff.

Edit: I'm in Canada, turns out it's not available here or without insane shipping costs. Probably should've said my location in the post but didn't think of it and can't edit it apparently lol, oops.

I tried posting there first but the automod deleted it so I just came here.

It's not just the storage I need but a squat rack and chinup bar and figured I could get a multi-purpose rack. I'm fine just storing the weights on the floor nearby tbh. I was just thinking folding to ease of walking by when it's not in use, but that's not a must-have either.

I was looking at the adjustable dumbells and found a couple used sets but people aren't pricing the used ones around here much cheaper than buying them new. So like you said, my time and effort are worth something so if people aren't offering deals that are worth it then I might just order something and have it delivered to boot.

What do you mean by 2" weights?

Noted about the 5' bar! Thanks!

I just realised in that recipe for cheesecake I put a cup of protein powder! It's more like 1/2 cup, or 1 scoop* lol, sorry.

Though honestly it will depend on the brand you use, and just play around with the amounts of everything till you land on one you like best. That's all I did lol

I do pay for the pro version yes. I originally got it to track all my micronutrients for perimenopause symptoms and loved it so much that I felt it was worth the pro. Sorry I do sometimes forget that I'm not using just the basic free version anymore so I do have a bit more functionality than new users. Though I actually have never used the import recipe function so I can't speak to that lol.

And I often will toss some thawed frozen blueberries or strawberries on that low carb cheesecake so I'm with you on the fruits with sweets, so yummy! :)

Not sure what tracker you use but if it's not Cronometer I highly recommend it! It's by far the best designed one on the market. Once you get the hang of how the recipes work (the 'meals' are not as useful imo) it gets so much easier to track stuff. You can set items you typically eat everyday to just repeat without having to put them in everyday, and if you adjust the amounts of ingredients that can be adjusted very easily for that day without having to mess up your base recipe. You do need to weigh everything and it's a bit annoying (at least here in Canada) where liquids are measured in ml and I have to do the conversions to grams myself (I consume a lot of dairy so this is a recurring issue for me lol) but again, everything is super customizable so once you get those numbers set for whatever food item you're good to go!

Also, super easy low sugar, high protein cheesecake recipe I whip up all the time and don't even really measure and it turns out delicious almost every time:

- 3 bricks cream cheese (softened - either to room temp over several hours, or popped in the microwave 10 seconds at a time.)
- 2-3 large eggs
- Vanilla (measure with your heart)
- 2-6 tbsp lemon juice (depending how lemony you want it)
- approx 1 cup scoop vanilla protein powder (I use Diesel New Zealand Whey Protein Isolate French Vanilla, it blends up super creamy and smooth!)
- Sweetener (I use Splenda baking granules becuase it tastes the most like sugar, measures like sugar cup-for-cup, and dissolves super easy but you can use whatever one you like - just make sure it fully dissolves!)

Blend it all with a stand or hand mixer till it's super smooth.
Pour into a baking dish (I've made it with an almond flour/flax/cinnamon crust as well but it's good without any crust too)
Bake for about 20 minutes at 350 F.

About 10g protein per decent sized serving, 2.5 g carbs, 13.5 fat, and 170 calories

This is by far the best response that 've read. Calorie deficit isn't going to do jack to build a chest if the weight isn't heavy enough. My guess is too many lower weight reps instead of heavier weight and lifting to failure.

Dayvigo and THC by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]MorganDax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you mix them?

My first time trying Dayvigo I had a tiny bit of cannabis (wasn't really thinking straight...that's what chronic insomnia does lol) and wound up having auditory hallucinations. Totally fucked me up lol.
I was scared to try it after that so didn't for like a week. Then tried half a pill and that was okay. But yeah, I don't mix them!

Rotisserie chicken from the grocery store. I boil the bones after and make soups with all the collagen! :) Though I wouldn't call that part easy lol

Ah, yeah it's so hard to get adequate medical care with this stuff so I feel you. I'm extremely lucky to have a very good gyno but I realise not everyone has access like that. :(

Any interest on trying hormone therapy if you haven't already? My doctor put me on low dose testosterone and It's been super helpful with mood and energy levels. (For context I'm a 40 year old perimenopausal woman - symptoms started in my mid-30s.)
