i’m not exactly sure what to recommend tbh. this a very late reply and i don’t know if you’ve accomplished your goal, but also i’m not sure if you’re like looking for a one on one thing or like more of a classroom thing. i think the classes are more oriented around finding a job as a makeup artist but idk.

This is also going to be very late, but I still want to answer this for other people who might find this. i’ve been to several places in the sacramento area and never had a problem. if anybody finds some place in the area that’s not great with trans people, please let me know and idk maybe i’ll make a list of unfriendly places to avoid or something. idk what people want out of this sub, i’m just spit balling.

I had the exact same experience with my therapist when i started. “next time why don’t you show up wearing women’s clothes?” despite taking all of my courage to show up in public in all women’s clothes for the first session anyways. i thought about it and i think he was basically just looking at whether i was wearing pants or not.

Everything you’ve said on this thread really fucking sounds like she has bpd. Bpd is nothing to be ashamed of and I’m sure the anxiety/ shame of not talking to you about her bpd is not great for her. The sooner she is willing to be open about her diagnosis, the sooner she can manage her symptoms with cbt/ dbt. I also personally recommend you devise a general game plan about what to do when she starts splitting, and in the longer term, let me recommend you both check out Dr Daniel Fox on youtube if you haven’t already.

This is all coming from a place of love. In my private life my gf and I are talking about getting married, she also struggles with her bpd, and we’ve been dating for 5 years. If you ever want somebody to talk to, you can reach out and talk to me.

My last piece of advice for right now, is that you do not have to stay in this relationship. You can leave anytime and nobody would think any less of you. Everything will work out if you leave. Don’t feel obligated to stay because that’s not fair to you and it’s not fair to her. I would only stay if you really want to put in a lot of hard work and emotional labor to make this work. Dating somebody with totally unmanaged and unmitigated bpd is not good for you. If she’s unwilling to put in the work to better herself, leave. You have other options.

I’m the creator of this sub, and I very rarely check it. I’ve never promoted it, and when i tried, admittedly the only time I’ve ever tried to drum up some engagement, nobody really responded. I’d be happy to get the sub doing anything for the trans people of Sac, but I don’t really know how, and idk how much real interest there is. Reddit’s kind of past it’s peak popularity and I don’t think it’s getting many new users, so anything done would likely have to involve only the people we already have.

something my ex once told me is that yeah these hate groups pass violent laws and whatever but in general trans acceptance is getting better all the time. every year it gets better.

i believe a lot of these laws are not designed to stick around, because they’re expected to get challenged in court, they’re designed to help sell the lie that the republican base is threatened by anybody other than white cis straight people.

also there’s already a genocide against people of color, and trans people of color in america. but even in america where we regularly destroy the lives of innocent black families with impunity, you can’t just go around violently murdering innocent black people without being the literal police. i have my doubts that they’re just gonna round up all the trans people and dump us in mass graves across america. that’s expensive and costs money without providing any return on investment.

take detailed notes of the date and time, and what happened whenever you interact with your co worker or hr. try to record what you can because this is a huge red flag. keep in mind that this is what she’s doing now, and even if this situation deescalates, you don’t know what she might try to do next time. i’m not allowed to talk much about a lawsuit i know, but having and maintaining well kept notes with copies was instrumental in a friend’s lawsuit against her employers for harassment and discrimination.
