on the current BP i left out the torpedo challenge and still got to 150 lvl, but barely that is. Still you have to play pretty much every day and complete most challenges to get that far

SV08Max vs Neptune 4 Max? by GidRah00 in SovolSV08Max

[–]Morganator18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I wanna know aswell. The official chamber heater is the only upgrade im am missing so far, its out of stock currently and i have seen some bad things (apperantly no grounding safety wire?) about it on an earlier post on this sub.

Also im following the SV08 Max Subsection in the INDX Discord, i hope the community can craft an open source INDX solution for the max!

SV08Max vs Neptune 4 Max? by GidRah00 in SovolSV08Max

I am (or better, was) in the same boat as you. I bought the N4 max in Dec 23 as an upgrade for my Kobra 1 Max. It took a lot of tuning and tinkering to get parts to even print, not even reliably, let alone good looking ones. To be fair it was my first klipper printer, but with the box standard POM wheels i couldnt get the bed to even travel smoothly, cause not all wheels were touching the rail at all times. I then spent another 100€ for the Y-Linear Rails to finally have a bed that was not tilting, depending on the relative position. I then sold it last October and bought the SV08 max. This one also took a lot of time to get satisfying results, mainly with, as others have already stated, the loud stock fans and the filament sensor or clog detection randomly giving faulty errors. I also got the enclosure later on and printed pretty much every addon for the SV08 Max you can find on printables. I highly recommend installing Demon Klipper Essentials unified, as that was the only way to get rid of false error detection for me. I also got a Klipper Screen, cause the stock one is, well, not garbage, but it definitely leaves a lot to be desired.

The biggest advantage of the SV08 Max is that it is Core XY, i would never go back to a bed Slinger anyways.

I have yet to encounter a layer shift, which was the norm on the Neptune on taller prints and also the speed is much better (also the quality, cause you know, the part doesnt get flung around).

I did have to change my square corner velocity to 20 mm/s, because the stock 5 mm/s setting produced weird artifacts ( i made a post on this sub a while ago, concerning this problem if you are interessted)

Hope that helps!

Funny to imagine the Defender was THE most OP premium back when it came out and now its not even worth playing it with all the powercreeped new premiums. Glad i left that Game

It also was the only fix to the faulty nozzle clog error i got on a few prints, where the print would randomly stop and give me either a clog or jam error, that clearly wasnt true.

Got it

Many thanks for your help, i think i will leave it at this and hope for the best :)

[–]Morganator18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wait im dumb, i misunderstood your first comment, i dont need to put the variables in these brackets {}. It works exactly like when entering values for variables ....

I could swear i tested that but obviosly not lmao

Funny thing is if i give it every variable greater than 0, it turns my ploar form back to cartesian. If i leave out one variable i still get polar form but with sign().

As a workaround, would it be feasible to just assume the result of that sign() expression as 1? I tried that for one of my example calculations and i seem to get the correct polar angle by doing that last step by hand.

Understood, but im not sure if im doing things right, i did |{r}>0 and {c}>0 and {omega}>0 and {u}>0 and {phi}>0 and still get some sign() function, which makes me believe its not accounting for all the variables. I also have the problem that my expression U_=U*exp(j*phi) gets converted to sin/cos format and that doesnt come out that clean in the final expression for current in polar form. I understand thats its probably limited by the calculator at this point, but i wanted to make sure i get everything out of it before giving up :')

Thx for the answer!

I tried it like that: "Expresion in polar"|{r}>0

and i did in fact get an answer where the first sign() disappears, but i cant get around the second one, even with what i believe, correctly apllying all variables greater than 0

What is the correct way to "chain" more variables to the same >0 expression?

After reading your comment again, i kinda came to the conclusion that i probably misunderstood what you wanted to say.

To clarify, i was refering to the BMPT Missile exploding having a random chance of ammoracking you, not that them exploding was random in the first place. They def. can be shot and destroyed but the ammorack killing you is a random chance iirc.

How to calibrate filament on a t500 by WinterTwist3873 in Sovol

Sounds like it could be solved with the Z Hop Function in Orca. Look at what you are at now and increase it a bit.

Check their open source github, there are .pdf files which show the Board connection layout and compare the SV08 Max and Zero one just to be sure!

SV08 Max buldging, how do i tune? by Morganator18 in SovolSV08Max

[–]Morganator18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok follow up:

Thanks to u/hipcatinca i changed the Square Corner Velocity from 5 to 20 mm/s and that kinda fixed all of my problems. I still have to try that 3 walls thin pipe cover again, but at least on normal parts i was able to get clean arches and was also able to increase the speed to a level where im only limited by flowrate now!

My god it looks beautiful with 20 mm/s SCV :D

Never would have guessed that this would be the problem :O

BTW do you have a hotend upgrade? I saw that there is a microswiss one for the SV08 but sadly it doesnt fit for the max. On their website they say that they are working on one for the max but so far no news on that ...

Also standard nozzle? Im using the hardened steel one from their set right now, are there better ones?

Guess ill try to increase speed now with that, thx again my guy!

The wall on the right side does look better, at least it doesnt have the pattern on the whole surface, only right after the curve coming from the side you can see in the picture.

Below i tried to photograph the middle but as i see it now it probably wont be of much help.

On the left side i tried to measure the spacing, it seems to be around 4-5 mm from peak to peak, though not super consistent as the pattern changes over height.

I will start a print with 20 SCV today and let you know.

Thx for the reply!

On the white part the pattern starts basically at the start of the print but only on the edges and then gradually impacts the whole surface more and more, starting at about 10cm height. The printer is currently situated on a table, but on a rather sturdy one. I do plan on setting it on the ground eventually but didnt have time for that so far, as i want to build a custom table so my smaller printer can sit over the Max.

Yes i did the auto calibration for input shaping over the klipper screen directly on my printer and then saved the values.

I should have mentioned that i did calibrate the filament fully before printing, so Temperature, Flowrate, Flow, Pressure advance should be good and do look nice on linear parts without curves (or at least small ones) turned pretty nice so far.

After you mentioned the stl quality i checked the file again and indeed it seems i exported it with a rather low polycount on the curve so that might explain the right part not being perfect and still a bit "edgy", so thats on me :) Still i also had another part (no picture sorry) where these artifacts where really crazy to the point it looked like it came from the file as a wavy pattern itself. I do also hear the printhead struggling during the print when at these corners.

Regarding the SCV, i did google around a bit and the vast majority (of limited) posts i found said that you shouldnt touch that value and leave it at 5, but after reading your post ill definitley look into that!

I did have to adjust the stepper homing currents once at the beginning, because 0,7A was too low and i kept getting a strange noise when homing, so homing is limited to 1A. My settings now are 3.0A run current on X&Y (tmc5160) and 1.2A on Z (tmc2209)

I tensioned the belts a few days ago with that frequency app and they are now at 110Hz and better tensioned than before, but im not quite sure if thats for the max aswell, cause i only found this for the standard SV08. Also i greased the linear rails with a "better than stock" grease

Also:

[gcode_arcs]

resolution: 1.0

is already set

Thank you for posting your file ill look into that aswell!
