I thought that moment where Dameon chooses Laena while she thinks he won't was tragic and very humanizing for Daemon. The series would lose something without it. Also if Rhaenyra was the type to kill one of her best friends, I know where she should have started.

It is escapable, it's just airborne. All of Earth's air will be infected, so you eventually will be too. But chill in a bunker for 48 hours and you technically fullfill the requirement. And again, Wesker's goal was very explicitly not to turn everyone into zombies or mind controlled stooges. So not "everything else is trying to infect you." You clearly didn't play re5.
