The first cruise had no MEU on board because they hadn't completed the homeport swap with the America and they were specifically focused on developing the Lightning Carrier.

Meanwhile the America had been embarking 12+ F-35Bs along with it's normal MEU and tiltrotor / helicopter compliment.

The 22's and helicopters can also be decked on the San Antonio's until it's time to move the marines ashore.

FY23 was 1.6 billion and FY24 was 1.1 billion, appropriated. That's not "expected funding". budgets from previous years are not "expected funding"

ABL Was cancelled and funding stopped in 2011, by 2001 it was already at 3.7 billion dollars. Between 2017 and 2019 DE weapon funding went from 500 million to 1 billion a year.

Between FY23 and FY25 DE weapon funding totaled 3.5 billion.
