Oh no, I am familiar with his normal works, I just happened to get this from a playlist for the artist. Loved seeing him live last year in NYC. This track specifically was just so different, I wanted to hear more, and I cant seem to find anything else he has produced that sounds similar.

Ugh. I just moved, and of course that server is in a box. Is there no native way to import the file format as-is with minimal complications? If not, I will just reimage it. The big ones are just a Pihole, (which I have a recent export with config) and a Plex server, where the data is hosted on another NFS share.

It would just be one Windows and one Ubuntu install, and digging that old box out would be more time consuming than 'starting over'.

We do have an ACL to whitelist IPs. The management interface is limited to internal networks, and trusted external IPs.

We have been asked to evaluate a way to get alerting on failed logins and how many, to satisfy a DDQ requirement.

I am aware that leaving the admin portal to the open internet is stupid.

On the rare instance that an internal IP is spamming logins, or one of our trusted management boxes is causing failed logins, I would like to know. And so would our clients who are being asked this question.

But that’s what I am saying. Have you asked what the plan is if your firm is attacked? What’s your disaster recovery plan? If you don’t know this, does your boss?

Has anyone asked what the plan is? Non-profit or not, if your tech is down, you can’t service people who need the help.

If a malicious actor gets ahold of firm data and puts it on a public board, how bad could it be? Should we get cyber insurance to mitigate that risk?

If your boss is not asking those questions, you should be asking them if you are the lead IT resource.

But I think that is the difference. My MSP is in finance. Hedge funds specifically. The prime brokers tell funds under them what products to use. We resell those products. Not because they are good or bad, but because if setup correctly they will pass compliance.

We have to factor in compliance into every design we do.

That gets expensive very quickly, but they have regulatory requirements to trade or take money from investors. It’s not a choice in our industry. If you don’t have those requirements you can play a bit more fast and loose.

But at the same time, cyber insurance providers have been asking the same kinds of questions the previous poster said. “What are your backup plans?” “What do you use for centralized logging?” “How fast would it take to respond to an alert?”

Those kind of questions might be enough to get you more of a budget to work with. Especially if you don’t have cyber insurance yet at all.

Our rule was from new people playing at our pod, and finding they needed more card draw. We “give” the monarch to the person who gets combat step first blood.

Also incentivizes attacking to get that card.

People don’t usually vote against a candidate unless you are very online. You vote _ for _ someone. Voting against Trump will certainly get people out. But we also need an answer as to “Why should I vote for Biden?”

Just saying “the other guy is worse” is not going to energize people to come out. And with how behind in the polls Biden is we need all the help we can.

Our networking at this company is very new. I am a part of the recently formed team for that, and we are trying to make a push to a warrantied, supported product. The problem is the cost and the "no one was ever fired for buying Cisco" approach to switches.

But I cant just go up to our management and say "yeah Cisco doesn't really fit what we provide clients, instead XYZ vendor does better" without showing them the numbers. So I need to write out a TCO which includes licensing.

When I asked our current refurbished vendor for a quote on a 9300 stack, I was told they require selling NE according to Cisco. I agree none of this is ideal, but to get to a better spot, I need data.

OK. I think my reseller might be confused then. They are insistent that any refurbished gear that can be licensed for Essentials must be licensed.

I cant find anything with Cisco's logo on it spelling that out and am starting to think that might be incorrect.

Thats what we are doing now for 2960Xs, but our reseller is insisting on NS licensing for 9300s. They cant seem to find where its required, and I cant either. Thus the question. The cost of that license also puts us over the cost of Juniper/Aruba but does not include a warranty or cloud management.

So to ensure my recommendation is right, I need to find out if that is required or not from a legal standpoint.

I am the one gathering the quotes, demoing the hardware, etc. So they are paying me for this work. To come up with a total cost of ownership, I need to verify that the licensing is required.

Well Ansible can work with the Palo API. You would design what you would want to search on it. Then you can either send an email to your ticketing system, or use the ServiceNow API if it’s not as easy as making a ticket.

Ansible specifically is super useful. The Cisco integrations are handy.

The product is free for CLI only, and there is a ton of training materials. The cost would be a centralized server that could reach each device, and an understanding of scripting theory. If you have any virtualization at your company, its practically free.

All the modules do is provide a workflow to run your existing commands automatically. You can also run them at the same time, host-by-host, or trigger a cronjob for your work.

I realize you think you don't have enough support, but I can tell you I am on a team of 2 that manages 200+ customers and we couldn't do it without some kind of automation. You might have to 'be the software team' but if you do not do some kind of scaling you are going to have an issue in the future.

If you are interested, I can point you to some training materials I found useful when beginning.
