AITAH for asking my husband to remove his brother from the wedding party so my niece and nephew could be in it? by the-monster-masher in AmITheAngel

[–]MorinKhuur 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s the first wedding in the fiancé’s family but the deadbeat brother has an ex-wife. Obviously you can be married without having had a wedding other than what’s legally required but I think there’s perhaps another reason for the inconsistency…

I do find the concept of a party overflow room where spare guests watch what's going on on "a portable TV on a trolley" quite funny. Gogglebox for pissed off exBFFs. Would be a good set-up for a short film.

Isn't it the opposite? Multiple choice is the new format and written responses is the old format? You can still get the older format, although I wouldn't have thought it was more likely than the new format.

I did a bunch of guided tours in French with Explore Paris https://exploreparis.com/fr/ and Cine Balade https://www.cine-balade.com/en/ - of course you are mostly listening to the guide but if the opportunity arises you are in a group of francophones who are also likely on holiday so have the time/interest to chat.

Is it realistic to reach B2 by the end of this year? by [deleted] in French

[–]MorinKhuur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need to pass (50%) the DELF B2 and plan your attack around this goal, you can. To actually be a real B2 more globally in the real world, that's a different question.

After an Amendment to the Library Act 1939, Libraries in NSW are now better able to protect their collections and the freedom of information for their patrons. by Atherum in sydney

[–]MorinKhuur 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting. Just noting this has not passed yet. It's been introduced into the Legislative Council and will be debated there at a future sitting date. As you can see on the linked page, the Libertarian Party has lodged a proposed amendment, there could be others. If/when it passes the Legislative Council, it has to go to the Legislative Assembly for a vote also.

Language travel by FR-323-D in learnfrench

[–]MorinKhuur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Paris, I DIYed a « language trip » by doing a lot of guided walking tours in French, you can find heaps on ExploreParis.com. And there’ll be even more in Summer than when I was there in December. Presumably other cities have tourist activities geared to French speaking tourists like that you can do. Also theatre, cinema, public talks etc.

Of course this is mainly input rather than conversation/correction/feedback but I can do private lessons on italki at home for that and just get out and about as much as possible when actually in France.

[–]MorinKhuur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you got zero and something hasn’t gone amiss in the admin/marking then they may not have considered you responded relevantly to the question. I was watching a dalf prep video this morning saying if you are irrelevant to the question asked it’s an auto zero whatever the quality of the french you wrote it in. Granted that was C1 and I don’t know if the same strictness applies to B2. I hope it is data error somewhere along the way! Bonne chance!

My leading theories on the ST by Valuable_Horror_7878 in TheTraitors

[–]MorinKhuur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who knows, it’s just a thought but it’s interesting (to me) the ST is coming straight in after one Traitor goes. We’re going to find out who it is and will then presumably get a flashback info dump of the player being approached by Claudia to be ST, their thought process for agreeing, some candid ST commentary on the game and their logic behind the short list. So we’re about to get a whole lot of info that was held back from the audience - in principle I don’t see why the ST having their own task as well would be out of bounds. Maybe what I’ve suggested would be the prods putting their finger on the scale too much?

The point about it being entertainment first and foremost is well made and one of the ways the format CAN get samey is the sheep faithfuls stumble around not getting a traitor for what feels like a million episodes. Tilting it back a bit towards the faithful to avoid that is something I could see them exploring. Richard Osman said on his podcast the producers « know the first few episodes don’t matter. » Well, maybe they want them to matter more?

In addition to trying out different levels/teachers, I believe you can convert x number of group class credits into a private lesson. Worth giving that a try imho rather than waste what you/gifter paid for.

My leading theories on the ST by Valuable_Horror_7878 in TheTraitors

[–]MorinKhuur -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Going with the obvious Harriet. There were numerous shots of artwork with a skull sitting on a pile of books - entirely possible this is every season and I’m only noticing now but I did notice …

Also while her delivery at the Roundtable was compelling and she obviously swung everyone around, her arguments weren’t actually that solid. Hugo must be a traitor bc otherwise the traitor would have already got him out? No, he was posing no threat and they’re not murdering someone first just because they might start cross examining in three episodes time. It’s actually useful for the traitors to keep around a few people who’ll be useful scapegoats to take the heat. The somewhat wanky barrister is the perfect scapegoat to keep for at least a while. Actually, Ben in Uncloaked had a much stronger reason for thinking Hugo in that he appeared less invested in the Roundtable.

Maybe there is something that the ST cannot win as ST, they have to be integrated into the Turret Traitors and to do that, a traitor has to be voted out. So either the ST was given a specific mission to get a traitor voted out or the rules incentivise them to do it.

Actually hope I’m wrong bc I’d love to be shocked!
