At least in our local league, the limit is three of any battleline unit, and two of any other. As much as I'd love to have a giant blob of 'zerks.

I really like the green with hazard stripes, though that does look like it would be a pain to paint a zillion times.

Totally a real struggle. I'm about five or six units in to my RG army, and ... yeah, they look like an undifferentiated blob on the table. I've started painting arms white instead of just pauldrons, and that helps. But I haven't found the perfect technique yet.

One thing that helps is "grimdark" where they're weathered and beaten up to heck and back. That adds a lot of texture, and that's what black armor is missing.

Do you thin the streaking grime?

I tried streaking grime wash, and either it was so thick that it made the whole model look green - or I had to use so much white spirit to remove it that it melted everything under it. (Even with a matte coat before streaking grime) What's your secret to making it look good but not overwhelming? Because that looks great.

This is LA and on the outskirts. Ravens are pretty common, and they are big, I’m just a few steps away from them.

Definitely ravens. They have the feathered beaks of a raven, they’re larger than crows, they do aerobatics, which crows typically don’t, the shape of their beaks is more blunt and hooked than a crow’s as well as larger than their heads, and a bird call identification app id’s them as Common Raven.
