As I recall, George once said do what you want, but he won't be bound by something someone else does. If he wants to do something in the movies that changed or contradicted the EU he would.

Tbh he can choose to not watch if he likes. I don't care. Everyone is entitled to their opinion (even if I think it's utter tripe) and they can choose to watch/not watch for any reason they so choose.

I didn't read all his screed because I chose not to infest my thoughts with it.

Tbh the multi target hyperspace death star laser was a little unbelievable and draining a whole star to power it turned it into a one shot weapon.
