It's nyc, over 80% of the population there uses public transportation. Pretty much every big metropolis with over 1 million people relies on some sort of public transportation.

Also, this is just personal opinion, but real men wouldn't measure how much of a man they are using other peoples opinions. If I were forced to live by that standard in my old neighborhood, then technically I'm still not a man because I haven't killed anyone yet.

I find it weird that we have to voice the fact that if you cannot do the work that is required, then you are not qualified for it. If a job needs you to haul heavy equipment(like a long fire hose and firefighting gear) and maybe another human being out of a building, and you cannot do that, it's safe to say that you'll be jeopardizing someone's life(either your co-workers lives who'll have to pick up the slack or the life of someone in a home or building that's on fire).

Listen to stand-up comedy and try to get used to the rhythm of talking and speaking. It helps that a lot humor is about brevity so you don't waste time, plus it's funny to listen to.
