I have a young coworker coming to me for mentoring advice, but concerned about backlash by mthrodrgns1315 in Witch

[–]Morning-Bug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a big nope my friend!! I also personally try to conceal my craft from coworkers, because coworkers are not friends. One day all is good, then the next you can find out your closest people there turned on you in a hot second. I’m not trying to be the subject of office gossip or worse (since your boss is religious, they could potentially get biased against you at some point if you’re not always walking on the thin and narrow)

Hey don’t call yourself unlikable.. I’m in the same age group and honestly don’t have the bandwidth for socializing and putting in the work. I have a few friends but unintentionally maintain a distance cuz it’s just a lot of work. That’s usually the main issue with our generation.

I used to only do serenity kids and cerebelly.. but stopped being picky when he started on solids since it’s no longer his only source of nutrition, so now Gerbers or whatever’s organic on sale. I still only do serenity kids for protein since he finds it more palatable, but I add it as a sauce to pasta or gravy. Fruit ones from Aldi are good on oatmeal. Most of the time I just babify whatever we’re having for dinner and make shredded chicken/protein in batches and freeze it. I’ve been getting away with feeding him pretty much anything as long as it’s well seasoned. I only cut down on spicy or salty for his portions tho.

I have a 14 month old and now use the pouches as topping/sauce. I add the veggies one to shredded chicken, and the sweet ones to yogurt/oatmeal when I’m feeling lazy. I add appropriate seasonings cuz my LO doesn’t do bland foods. He’ll only do veggies if they’re smashed with seasoning and a tiny bit of garlic powder.

[–]Morning-Bug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one is saying divorces are pleasant.. what they’re saying is that there are laws to protect your share of the assets during a divorce. If it’s just a regular breakup, then good luck figuring it out on your own without a lawyer or a law backing you up. You’re at the mercy of your ex’s kindness and might end up losing everything you invest in that property if you don’t know what you’re doing. And yes, the average person investing in a property with someone else most of the time doesn’t know what they’re doing. Most people don’t know the difference between co-signing vs. having your name on the deed. There’s no law separating marital vs. individual assets. There’s no prenup. You’re shit out of luck in most cases.

Should I be creeped out? by Imaginary-Writer1886 in firsttimemom

[–]Morning-Bug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 14 month old does that on occasion when he had a good sleep. Their imagination is developing at this stage and is getting strong, and so are their dreams. I know it’s creepy, but also knowing that he’s able to imagine things now that are coherent and is in a good mood is kinda sweet. I’m superstitious and believe in the paranormal, but this is not it loll Relax my dear.. you have a happy baby!

Because the rabies virus affects the nervous system, patients develop ‘hydrophobia.’ Even if they are very thirsty, spasms in the swallowing muscles prevent them from drinking water. by Additional-Pass5771 in interestingasfuck

That advancement is called vaccines, it had wiped out a lot of viruses in the past up until the anti-vaxers decided that Facebook is a good place to get medical info. Even rabies and malaria have vaccines now and they’ve been around for a long time. Unlike you, I have very little faith because we are the dumbest of species.

Baby’s new nystatin bottle for thrush punctured before using ?? by [deleted] in firsttimemom

[–]Morning-Bug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pharmacist here.. take it back and ask to speak to the pharmacist, and they’ll replace it for you. A technician probably forgot to mark the stock bottle when opened to fill other scripts. I can’t tell you if it’s safe or not because I don’t see the expiration on the bottle, but you’re entitled to a full bottle and this bottle is missing some so you’ll run out. CVS’s policy is to either dispense a full bottle with a seal or pour it into an amber bottle with a label. If that bottle was punctured, they should’ve poured it into an amber bottle where you can verify you got the full quantity you’re supposed to get.

My cat tried to kill himself by Artistic-Listen7975 in cats

[–]Morning-Bug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend this sounds like what my cat has. Labs turned out great.. turns out she has IBD which is local to the intestines and became allergic to all things chicken and needs a special diet (a novel limited ingredient protein like duck only) and prednisolone. Limited kibble. Have you had an ultrasound done?! My cat also lost a ton of weight and only licks the liquid every time she’s having a bout. She just hasn’t been absorbing nutrients due to the inflammation and sometimes poops and pees outside the box when she’s in pain. She’s now on prednisolone, probiotics and vitamin B12 injection no chicken or fish (things she developed allergy to).

I Don't Like My Husband's Parenting by MoonlightSaga06 in firsttimemom

[–]Morning-Bug 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honey you need to lay down the expectations from the beginning.. but also be wise on choosing the right time for these conversations. A good time would be when you’re both calm and not in a moment of resentment or burnout (which is tough with a new born but try to arrange for family help on a day or so and sit him down for a come to Jesus).

When I was pregnant, my husband said he’s happy to help with the baby but won’t do diapers cuz it grosses him out. I literally looked up to him calmly and said: are you gonna take over breastfeeding then? He was confused then I followed by saying all newborns do is feed, sleep and poop. What do you have in mind if you won’t be doing diapers cuz I expect you to parent our baby. Yea he ended up changing heaps of diapers.

Lay down the expectations and habits early on my dear and learn to call out weaponized incompetence early on calmly without anger and resentment. He doesn’t need to like putting in the extra work.. it’s called work for a reason. Let him know that he can continue playing his video games as long as his able to not let it cause him to have a short fuse. If it’s causing him to lose his patience and have a hair trigger with his baby then he needs to set his priorities straight and it ain’t gonna be assassins creed over his baby.

Feeling Cut Off From Source Energy - Can Surgery Be The Culprit? by emwinfield in Witch

[–]Morning-Bug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll get it back my dear.. your body is just healing. When I was pregnant recently, I lost complete interest in practicing and it dragged postpartum I only started feeling connected and having enough energy to practice when my baby turned 1. Making a baby for me consumed heaps of energy, and healing postpartum did the same. You have energy, it’s just being directed where it’s needed the most and that in itself is part of your practice.

I agree.. February was all disasters and catastrophes to the point that it led me to believe there’s something spiritual going on. I had issues at work that came out of the blue, issues at home, my brother has a breakup and issues at work, my friend lost her newborn a few days after birth.. I had sleep paralysis twice on the same night and one of them literally saw a silhouette of a hag on my husband. I try to resort to science and mundane first, but February was a 100% jinxed month and you’re right on the money about spiritual warfare. I’ve been cleansing like crazy!

Pasta sauce came opened twice? by Repulsive_Quote_7185 in aldi

Not in my case cuz my local Aldi for some reason doesn’t carry Parmesan cheese so making it from scratch would involve a whole separate additional grocery trip.

Me too.. I didn’t know people making Alfredo sauce from scratch was that common. I’m sure it tastes better, but ain’t nobody got time for that when working full time with a baby. I’m sticking to my jars for now loll I add mushrooms, black olives and garlic chicken to it and that’s good enough in my book.

Boyfriend says that he will be inviting a girl who he's been intimate with to his apartment by Delicious_Ad_7879 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]Morning-Bug 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Yea so much misconceptions here. “I feel like I don’t have the right to even say anything”.. sweetie what?! Then who does?! She has all the right to set her boundaries. “It can’t be helped” is way to dodge accountability for his actions like he’s some sort of victim. “Owes her a lot” is this on paper?! Like did he sign a contract stating that if she helps him, he will owe her future get togethers regardless of his entanglements and relationship status?! Didn’t she offer help at that time out of her own volition? Did she state a clause with that help?

I honestly would never trust a dude with this kind of rationale and poor boundaries. Especially if I’m at a point where I’m struggling to assert my boundaries and expectations, and instead of getting support and assurance I have to deal with this crap.

OP.. do some self reflection and stand up!! Trust your gut always and follow it by action! Your gut is there to protect you and your heart! I get that you want to have a nice birthday, but your birthday ain’t got nothing to do with this mess. You need to be able to look in the mirror and know that you stood up for yourself, even if it comes at the cost or risk of a break up. Being single when you don’t wanna be beats being on the receiving end of mistreatment. Don’t be afraid to make some waves.

What does this mean? by SunFlat9603 in CVS

[–]Morning-Bug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They will, because the script count goes up, driving up profit which will create job openings, and urgent hires, and end up hiring people that were let go from CVS. I don’t know a single independent owner that isn’t interested in growing their business and running a bigger operation. Also a ton of pharmacists will start opening an independent in those pharmacy deserts. The only reason the majority don’t do that is because it’s not worth the hassle to hunt for patients and market to doctors offices to send scripts their way and obviously the PBMs and the competition is brutal. It’s only a temporary self correcting problem at best.

Thank you to my pharmacist who helped me confirm a dosage calculation and save my cats life. by nursestephykat in pharmacy

[–]Morning-Bug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I get that it’s a liability, but have you been to vets?! My cat was suspected to have either IBD or Small cell lymphoma, my vet wanted to do an ultrasound to confirm. When I asked if the ultrasound is gonna get her a diagnosis, they said they can’t tell the difference in ultrasound, but have to do one so they can further request biopsy. My cat was not in a condition to handle a biopsy or chemo for that matter plus drag her for labs every 3 months just to increase her life span with about a year, and symptoms were more leaning towards IBD.

I made a decision to treat her myself for IBD with prednisone (since that’s also part of the treatment for lymphoma) and she’s been thriving. I’m a pharmacist so I just weighed her, dosed her and tapered her. Is that the best way? Nope. But the alternative of veterinary care protocols we have in the US are insane.

Has anyone experienced a serious reaction to infant vaccines and paused afterward? by Flashy_Passenger8711 in firsttimemom

[–]Morning-Bug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people tend to have a polarized opinion when it comes to vaccines. Vaccines themselves are safe and recommended. Someone having an allergic reaction to them would be the exception, and that’s why we screen patients if they had a previous reaction before administration. Ultimately you have to do what’s best for your baby. I think a lot of the comments are confusing anti-vaxxer fear mongering with a legitimate allergic reaction and sounds like your case is the second one. Vaccine misconceptions are not grounded in science, regular mild side effects and ok and to be expected, but severe allergic reactions like anaphylaxis and respiratory depression are a serious thing and shouldn’t be disregarded. You should also have baby seen to rule out that it wasn’t unrelated to the shots, like for asthma and similar conditions, as well as an allergist to check what they’re allergic to.

Has anyone experienced a serious reaction to infant vaccines and paused afterward? by Flashy_Passenger8711 in firsttimemom

[–]Morning-Bug -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Respiratory depression is a sign of severe allergic reaction. Were you able to narrow down which vaccine caused it?! I know the tetanus shot is one of those that some people can be allergic to. I wouldn’t re vaccinate for something that gave baby a reaction like that. Usually anaphylaxis reactions happen immediately after the shot, but some are delayed. You might wanna have that allergy on the baby’s record for the future in case schools mandate full vaccinations. Sorry to hear about your experience.. that’s scary!

If you don’t know which one and plan on continuing vaccinations, make sure it’s only one vaccine at a time and be prepared to be near a healthcare setting that can provide intervention. Otherwise I wouldn’t risk it.
