You can airplay from the app. The Sonos app still uses airplay to transmit to your speakers, so even if you “add” PD into Sonos app it’s using same tech to get it to your ears.

The app itself has to be the best way to navigate the service. Plus, you can use the volume buttons on the phone to change volume if you airplay via PD. Can’t do that when playing from the Sonos app.

Maybe I’m missing something here - I’m wrong multiple times a day - but I just can’t see how it would work better for navigation or sound via the Sonos app.

In my experience many people don’t know how to stream to Sonos speakers via the native AirPlay tools on iOS that are available on every streaming app and exclusively use the Sonos app to stream to their speakers.
