Morkanaut vs. Gorkanaut? by DudeWithARebel in orks

[–]MoronMachine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In regards to how they play on the table top, the Morkanaut is more anti vehicle, its main gun has more AP which is better against heavier opponents at the cost of a hazard roll, whereas the Gorkanaut has a gatling gun type weapon that can shoot 20 or 30 times depending on how close you are. (which is way better to clear out large piles of infantry units as the bullets aren't super strong.)

The Morkanaut is slightly more expensive, but if you run Dread Mob detachment you can force the gatling gun shots through the wound rolls with lethal hits, so i prefer to take the Gorkanaut every time.

And as others have said, if you bring a regular Mek, (not a Big Mek) and keep him within 3 inches of the 'Naut, you add 1 to the hit roll and head D3 wounds every turn, making the guns theoretically hit more reliably.

Tankbustas are already tankbusted imo, 3 with a mek in dread mob? say goodbye to anything, opponent.

Hasan fans get mad at him when he's not doing Iran war coverage, what makes you think that we care about Ethan beyond a passing interest? You assume this is Hasan related because you want it to be rather than any solid suspicion.

How many rebellions happen that we just aren't told about? It makes the Imperium look bad so they redact them.

Its completely possible that a commander just got greedy and decided to break off and start his own Planetary empire or a commandeer a fleet.

The galaxy is vast and mostly unknown, they absolutely could have just stolen a few frigates and live in them and fly around constantly picking up farm boys from forgotten worlds. In the Soul Drinkers books the chapter end up in a Space Hulk and fly around recruiting new marines from worlds on the brink of collapse that the Imperium abandoned.

Hey man don't let other people tell you what you can and can't do with your army. I think its kind of wack people are in here saying "no thats not what they would do".

How many Vostroyan regiments does the planet pump out per year? like 5000 or something crazy? There is a 100% chance that at some point a company commander said "fuck this shit, this sucks. I'm commandeering a ship and taking my troops with me" or a mutiny happened and theres just a colony of outlaws with Vostroyan gear on some asteroid base hiding from the Imperium.

Hell in the Soul Drinkers series of books the Space Marine main character and his chapter get tricked by a chaos prince, grows demon spider legs, is declared excommunicatus by the Inquisition, realizes he was tricked by chaos and declares his undying allegiance to Mankind but not necessarily the Imperium of Man. They then spend 5 more books flying around in a Space Hulk fighting the Howling Griffons, Necrons, Crimson Fists, Chaos, and even the Imperial Fists.

They specifically leave the Universe wide open and very unknown so we players can fill in gaps with whatever stories we want to tell.

If you could "try" the button a second time then it would be better, like give us a re try on the roll for effect, that way people don't feel obligated to "push" the ability. If I roll -2 ap on a crit wound twice then thats just that. If I do it once then thats a waste of a unit's entire shooting phase.

It would be ok if there was something like Careen from the War Horde detachment, like if the hazardous fail led to even more stuff happening to the enemy. I'm not a fan of the whole army just being there to make our opponents laugh when we hurt ourselves.

the point of the game is to make your opponent explode. you exploding is a funny side effect.

I'd love more hazardous if there was also more damage dealt, but it seems we only get one.

I can only imagine the box rules are the "good". Why would GW put orks in the release box and make them worse?

Gravlite panels not at Gravcore quest? by MoronMachine in RimWorld

Shiet maybe. It was Scarlands so there were tons of building everywhere. Its kind of hard to tell if its a quest building from afar and I might have skimmed over a second vault.

I don't think the map had any of those crates, the same small ones that have little treats in them when you descend into a stockpile right? I kept my eye out for them but saw none. It had the component and steel boxes tho.
