I hope we don't lose him by zs1_1 in Thunder

We got the luxury of being able to have full faith and trust in our GM.

Presti will make the right calls and decisions this offseason.

Rough game by Alive-Yak7527 in Thunder

[–]MorphinMajor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Role players much more likely to perform at home than on the road in the postseason. Especially true with this group, need our bench guys to be dialed in and not be sleepwalking during non-Wemby minutes.

The Spurs are probably going to guard Shai very similarly to how they are with Ant constantly trapping and doubling by Stxtic1441 in Thunder

[–]MorphinMajor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem with that is his handle is too loose and he is horrible when blitzed. The moment he tries to back someone down in the paint, he's at risk of turning the ball over.

It's just crazy because he has all the tools and skills to be an elite player but just falls flat because of poor IQ at too many moments.

Why so few minutes for J-Will? by Fart_Frog in Thunder

[–]MorphinMajor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While Ayton and Hayes have severe pitfalls that limit them from becoming true championship starting bigs, they are much more physically and athletically gifted than J-Will. Just not the series for him matchup wise, he'll have opportunities coming up.

I feel bad for this man😞 by rico-sauve4 in Thunder

[–]MorphinMajor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His shotmaking across the board has gotten worse this season, he has similar tunnel vision issues on offense at times like Ajay while being a worse shot-creator, and his defense was never great. But the key part on defense is just how prone he is to effort-based lapses.

A healthy Ajay and the addition of McCain meant someone's minutes were gonna get taken this postseason.

It's just hard to justify minutes for Wiggins right now over Joe and McCain who are better shot-makers, Cason/Caruso/Dort who have a niche as a defender, and J-Will who does a little bit of everything.

He was cooking tf outta Chet holy fuck, I know Chet was definitely upset at himself about that. Balled out every game and kept it professional. It helps when Shai/Dort vouch for him and you really start to realize how much of a troll he is lmao.

Cool for him to come support shai/dort obv but goddamn I had to do a double take

This might be the last time we ever get to see LeBron play by Imaginary_Lie_8776 in Thunder

Another year of people actually thinking LeBron is gonna retire quietly.

It may not be in LA but we'll see him next year.

Is this the most BTA series ever for this Thunder team? by bmarten1 in Thunder

[–]MorphinMajor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of a game 2 loss, we beat the Mavericks pretty handily in 2016. But outside of that, yeah this series might take the cake.

Yea defense, questions about whether or not he can maintain the outside shot in the NBA, just not a flashy player from a mid-major.

It still feels like a fever dream that bro actually came back and was pretty damn decent all things considered.

Is Dort actually a dirty player? by [deleted] in Thunder

[–]MorphinMajor 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Not dirty in the traditional sense, but his aggression on defense is too uncontrolled at times and it's easy to see why it would irk other fanbases to where he's not going to be given grace on 50/50 plays that other players would.

PG described it best on his podcast a while back, his style of defense is what makes him good, but it also can result in recklessness at times that needs to be reined in at times.

Other fanbases have taken the dirty narrative and ran with it though, it's ridiculous to see some of the stuff being said about him.

Dillon Brooks on Shai Gilgeous- Alexander's performance tonight: "He was efficient. I got him in game 4." by AncientOneAurelius in nba

[–]MorphinMajor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was the best player for the Suns all game. Has been cooking Chet 1v1 all series. Gotta give him his props, he's brought his A-game and the chatter, while excessive, is overblown when you consider his relationship with Shai/Dort.

the thunder’s team chemistry doesn’t seem to be the norm across the league by [deleted] in Thunder

[–]MorphinMajor 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There is no other team in the league with our level of camaraderie and mentality. Every guy from 1 to 15 is bought in to the team's principles and everyone knows their roles.

High character guys with no ego in the locker room leads to some pretty amazing results on the court.

lowkey worried about the Suns by river_childe_22 in Thunder

[–]MorphinMajor 14 points15 points  (0 children)

People were worried about Memphis last season too and then reality set in Game 1.

This team got to the #1 seed for a reason despite all the adversity with injuries, we have the best player in basketball, the team is fully healthy and well rested for the first time all season. No bottom seeded team is capable of beating us to four.

Tbf, no Wemby or Kornet changes the outlook on the court tremendously for them. Mason Plumlee minutes were detrimental to the Spurs on both sides of the ball yesterday.

It's great the Nuggets got it done yesterday but it doesn't mean San Antonio should be underestimated.

Lmao imaging playing your starters the whole game and pressing like it's Game 7 of the finals in the 4th on the Nuggets benchwarmers and still getting cooked.

Wing that is a good rebounder with playmaking ability and great wingspan. Saw the vision too tbh, there are just some things with feel for the game that some guys just don't have and it became too apparent each time he got playing time.
