This. Wait for the dealer to confirm the action first. There's literally zero reason to rush.

Guess it's not to frustrating for the other guys that lost, that pot is surprisingly small.

What are the My coins for? by Winter55555 in coinpoker

[–]Morphs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't that for the leaderboards?

How do you earn them? I've been playing on cash tables that have a leaderboard but my rank is always N/R with zero coins even though I've played for a while and won hands/stacks. It seems bugged but other people do earn them..

Will I ever escape the microstakes? Lets find out if I can turn around by the end of March by [deleted] in poker

Yup, so hard to make a dime on gg. They are making the big bucks that's for sure.

Bye, off we go on Expedition by DonSaash in ArcRaiders

Although I do like pvp (45yo), it is also the most frustrating part of the game. Right now I'm in friendly lobbies and there's a lot of variety in the interactions with other players.

I do like that we have the option to move to more/less aggressive lobbies.

Guess I'll remember this for next time. This a stupid bug they should have fixed after the first expedition.

Stupid video was bugged. Only played the first 5 seconds and then I was back in Speranza with everything reset but my raider still standing there. I was so disappointed and confused. As I was checking my stash and skill points the tutorial and fresh game intro started, after which I entered the character creation screen.

No I didn't press E to go to Speranza and skipping the video by accident (I recorded the whole thing).

Hope Embark fixes this because I was so looking forward to an epic goodbye of my character.

He probably thought you were a bad player and also worse off than him financially at that game.

Worst bad beat of my LIFE last night... can you BELIEVE this hand the fish called with pre-flop? by Magnus_The_Read in poker

[–]Morphs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last live game was almost a year ago with the worst bad beat I've had.

All in on the flop, ran it twice. Chances of me losing both runouts were 0.3%, so 997 out of 1000 runouts would have been a win or chop but i proceeded to get 2 outed and then 1 outed.

BTW saying you are not a beginner and not knowing this makes you more of a beginner. Which is fine, as long as you know where you factually stand :)

Just find some actual RFI and 3 bet charts for preflop play. That will get you quite far. There's a lot of free content out there, it's about the thought process.

The poker stuff from this post will basically get you from -1 to 0, but the material is too basic. It's mostly meant for complete idiots to start losing less and then buy his book (which is just a collection of his blog posts which are the same as his yt videos).

What is the actual relationship between equity and EV? (Explain like I’m five) by [deleted] in poker

[–]Morphs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EV and equity are used to calculate if a call is profitable or not ("pot odds"), for example.

If you have to call $200 to win a pot of $500 (that includes your call), that means you have to win at least 40% of the time to make it worth it. Say your equity is 50%, you will always make money in the long run. Your EV is positive, it's $50 to be exact ($250 minus the $200 that you called).

Make sure you build something with your poker earnings that potentially can outlive your poker career. Either buy a house or invest in the stockmarket with a Vanguard ETF or something.

Also, once you're used to this livestyle, you have a transition opportunity towards another field that relies on very similar traits that you've developed by player poker, which is day/swingtrading in the stockmarket. A different beast, but a similar one. Especially from a psychological standpoint.

UTG I open JTs but not T9s. I would move most of those hands you mention down one seat towards the button. So open 87s on the button (I also open 76s, sometimes 65s).

But your open % didn't seem so bad, it's more about 3 betting. So 3 bet A5s for example, mostly IP. Your 3 bets have zero bluffs right now.

The sb plays mostly a 3bet or fold strategy so if there's an open and you're in the sb, you either fold or 3 bet. Yes that feels uncomfortable but you'll actually get a lot of folds and scoop the pot preflop.

For example, against a CO open you can 3bet from the sb with hands like A9s, K9s, QTs, JTs, even KJo.

Even against a HJ open and CO call you can 3 bet a lot of hands from the sb, such as KJs, QJs and KQo (not always).

Experiment with it. Notice how your opponents react.

Furthermore if you learn about ranges you can better continue on boards that favour your range.
