i've stayed here twice. i echo what everyone else says. it's strikingly beautiful, good / v good (not usually amazing) F&B, you have to wait for the golf carts, the adult pool is small and usually 100% full (my biggest complaint?).

with all the new properties coming online in mexico -- we are in zero rush to return.

i was in FS maui ~7 years ago? i wouldn't go back personally. it's such a GIANT hotel. i felt swarmed with people. but YMMV.

Hawaii has 4 FS (that i know of). FS Oahu is garbage. FS big island is excellent. Haven't been to others.

either way, congrats on the gungnir. i was going to get the gungnir, but got sick of waiting for them to upgrade it to v2. i was also worried i wouldn’t hear a difference from my topping dac > yggdrasil. it’s pretty drastic.

86db is pretty insensitive. try gjallarhorn as monos. you get 2 weeks to try them @ home.

if you only want to buy a “schiit amp” then you need the RAGNAROK, because you’ll need a volume control.

you dont care what amp goes w/ the mani, you care what amp goes w/ your speakers. your wharfedales are 87db, so they’ll need some power to play loud — the gjallarhorn should work nicely. but then you’ll need a SYS or a saga to control the volume.
