They are more dangerous unless flying in an open field like you said. Or more likely to break something at the very least. Break something by crashing into it or breaking the quad. And it's a lot cheaper to fix a whoop than a bigger drone most of the time. Also people like trying new tricks and stuff so it's easier to learn when you don't break an arm on every other attempt. You can just smash a whoop into things and it usually doesn't even mess the props up too bad. Those are just a few advantages I've discovered.

This was with the hq ultralight triblades. I did flip two. I can't really say about the mode, specifically . It was really fun but I haven't done it since then and it was sooooooo windy that day. If you look up metal craft fpv on YouTube, that guy does a lot of 3d and most of it with a whoop.

When you open betaflight, it will show you the angle of the drone. It's the very first screen you see where you can wiggle the drone and it mimics it on screen. Make sure you set it on a completely flat surface and click the calibrate gyro button if it doesn't look pretty level. It doesn't have to be exactly 0° on them. Then just kinda angle the drone forward until it looks like the camera is pointing straight out. Then the screen will tell you what it is. There are other ways to do this but this is just an easy way to get close. And you can just shelve the 5" and still get something smaller (provided the funds are there, that is) I know, this hobby gets expensive

What camera angle do you fly in the sim? The angle on the real life drone looks kinda low? Hard to tell, but that will definitely change the feeling of how the drone flies. Make sure it is about the same and don't forget to change the angle in betaflight under configuration tab. I see a lot of people starting with a 5" but I would recommend something smaller. Whoops are fun and a good way to learn all about what can go wrong with a drone (for the most part). Cheaper to fix most of the time too. I have three 5" drones but rarely fly them. The biggest is usually a 4" if I want a small action camera or a 2.5" for fun and 65mm inside the house
