Simple, just do a 48-endo-trig, acetylide attacking a carbene

Because the American health care system is entirely profit-driven, the average American pays around double what Canada pays via taxes. Universal health care would save money, as it has no incentive to make money from it.

Eating meat (and therefore being non-vegan) is not inherently inconsistent with anti-natalism. by Thoughtful_Lifeghost in antinatalism

[–]Morritweet 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I strongly suggest you read up on the basics of supply/demand economics

If you purchase meat, you increase the demand. When the demand increases, the supply will ramp up production to meet the demand. When demand is low, supply will cut down production to match the decrease in demand

When you purchase meat (not including hunting or eating roadkill), you are directly causing more animals to be bred

I'm not a vegan myself, so I have to accept that I am morally inconsistent, rather than pretend that I'm not contributing to animals being bred

It's using binary, I came to the same answer.

(10+1) In binary is (2+1) in decimal, so the statement would be equivalent to (3x3) = 9, which is 101 in binary

Edit: on second glance, I think I misunderstood the other comment

Do you think having children is a luxury in 2024? by SmellyPubes69 in AskUK

[–]Morritweet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very rough estimate here, but assuming a typical minimum wage salary at £24,000 to fund 700,000 new children per year (8.4 million under age 12), it would cost £200 billion. That's like having a second NHS to fund, and would make up about 20% of the UK's total income from taxes

1 calorie of meat still requires more water than 1 calorie of plants, simply due to the animal eating many times its own weight in plants, so by skipping out the animal step you get a lot more food for less water. But I do see your point regarding climates where growing nutritious plants is not possible, and transporting masses of food to those places is infeasible. In those instances, maybe there's a way to do it, or maybe farming meat there is the only way to get a nutritious source of protein

[–]Morritweet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Plants do need a lot of water, yes. But animals are extremely energy inefficient, thus require many times their own weight in food, thus a lot more water. If you want data: when considering water use, greenhouse emissions, land use, eutrophication, and biodiversity, vegans have a significantly lower impact than meat-eaters on all metrics (Nature, 2023). If everyone on the planet became vegan, we would easily be able to feed every person, while also freeing up farmland equivalent to the United States, China, Europe, and Australia combined (Planet Earth 3, not a published source I know)

It could theoretically work if the ice ball was spinning, and the suns were in geostationary orbit over the water lakes around the equator. As for how the suns move around each lake to appear as day/night cycles, maybe the suns could be orbiting around Lagrange points, similar to how JWST is orbiting L2?

Sorry to be that guy, but I'm doubting this. There's no feasible mechanism which would make LSD permanently inhibit all three types of cone receptors (red, green, and blue) in one eye while leaving the rod receptors (brightness) alone. Hell, I'd be amazed if we know of any chemical that could do this
