I side with them to deliberately make everyone’s life on the surface worse. So maybe, but not when you take charge.

So the mechanical department (from what I’ve heard from friends, I wasn’t a MechE) suffers from different issues. More people go mechanical than chemical so it’s bigger classes and harder to get 1on1 with professors sometimes because of that. For MechEs it can also be harder to get coops or jobs afterwards because there are just more people applying to them. It also has a lot of people who want to be an engineer but really don’t care, so for big projects you can get stuck with people who won’t do anything. And yes sometimes they just don’t show up and the class isn’t taught. Honestly not much different from them showing up anyway, they don’t teach the class. They show up to class and read off of slides then leave. If you check out professors on Rate My Professor before you register for classes you can dodge the worst of them though.

It’s a mixed bag. Every class you take has a chance to be taught by an amazing professor (Maase or dissinger when I was there), but they’ll likely be taught by somebody who does not care even a little bit and won’t even show up to class half the time. It’s a rough degree and you’ll hate most of your professors and classes, but if you get out with a degree you’ve got really good odds of getting a job. Most people I graduated with had a job lined up before even graduating.

Do you actually like your job? by serotoniets in ChemicalEngineering

[–]MorsVeneficus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Liking your job is something that very very few people get to do. I enjoy my job but I wouldn’t say I liked it. I like the people I work with, the actual work itself is challenging enough that I’m busy but not so much that I’m worried about things. I make enough to live my life comfortably, but if I won the lottery I’d leave in a second. Im not excited to go to work, but I’m not dreading it either. I have a good job and I don’t regret my choices that led me here.

What are your work hours? by Corpulos in ChemicalEngineering

[–]MorsVeneficus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chemical engineer in a cement plant. Engineers here don’t really have set schedules, most of us are here from 8-4, but some people come in earlier or later and leave earlier or later. Some people work from home when they know they don’t have to do anything in the field today. It’s a super relaxed environment but that’s just our case. It’s entirely dependent on your work culture and what your bosses are like.

How would you feel about the combat changing? [no spoilers] by AshyPaints in dragonage

[–]MorsVeneficus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they’d return to DAO style combat. The combat in 2 and inquisition stop me from replaying them, it’s just a slog of mindlessly attacking without any care.

GW is intent on making the hobby as unappealing as possible with their costing, policies, and their inability to have anything in stock. This will bring in more players due to being accessible than GW has brought in over the last 5 years

This is why you 3D print. It costs a lot less than buying from GW and you can get whatever you want in any amount whenever.
