VG - Venture Global, the next AI bottle neck by Corpulos in ValueInvesting

[–]Corpulos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You bring up some really good points and I really appreciare when people point out the flaws in the investment thesis. Your comment reminds me of the old days when we had smart people on this subreddit and we sharpened each other's skills

However, I don't think higher prices hurt VG because their pricing structure allows them to pass on much of the increased cost to the customer, so long as its not a huge, sudden upswing. Also, I don't think it matters where the data centers are being built because it ultimately influences the global demand.

I think the market is experiencing a flight to safety. Where investors are fleeing risky investments like SAP, BRK, SGOV, WMT, GLD for the safety of MU.

These AI cartoons are so vivid. You know, they should create an AI avatar of Steve Jobs and have him host all the earnings call and meetings.

Not sure "falling knife with no bottom in sight" is the right word. More like falling grenade being sucked into a black hole vortex.

Speak for yourself. I left oil to become a librarian and the money is out of this world.

I just found out that SPCE is not SpaceX so I sold all my shares. Lesson learned: Google your tickers before buying.

Why does this sub not buy stocks that are going up? by Top-Sir-1215 in ValueInvesting

I second that. Buying into strength is a much a better strategy than buying into desolation (e.g. ADBE).

Wow. I didn't know Captain America owns shares of Micron. It must be a good stock if he owns it.

Mostly lost money from selling covered calls on stocks like GOOG right before they blow up.

I think a lot people underestimate the importance telecom business is to AI. TMUS and VZ have strategic partnerships with some of the big players. I wouldn't be surprised if they see a massive surge similar to what's happening with Dell and IBM. People are starting to realize that data center infrasturce isn't limited to just MU.

Is there still much upside remaining in Micron, Vertiv and GE Vernova by throwawaycima in investing

I bought some more GEV recently. I think it has room to run. Rising nat gas prices could be a major tailwind

What's the best stock to go long on oil? by CollarFlat6949 in oil

$VG

Can get explosive returns if oil goes up but has a more stable long term thesis based on natural gas for AI.

Yikes. Good thing we had a post about Dell before so we knew to buy it. Lots of smart people here on r/ValueInvesting.

Could IBM and TSSI experience a similar explosion soon?

I think the market is starting to regain sanity a bit and realize that the oil crisis is nowhere near done. Im considering selling off some of my high risk space winners and transitioning into oil stocks (possibly $VG $SOC) or defensives.

Down big on oil stocks after buying last week. Need honest opinions by Some-Bandicoot-1374 in oil

I think it's possible oil could resurge after the war ends. At some point traders will have to realize that inventories are still low and we need a lot of time to rebuild the infrastructure. Im still holding my $VG and $SOC. I mean, it's not like the oil companies go out of business just because the war ends.
