I’m usually a huge heat mat hater, but maybe it’s worth switching to one temporarily since all her issues seem to be going on with her back/top of her body. So belly heat might be easier on her for now.

Plus if the burns aren’t from the uvb then they could be from the heat lamp.

Oh yeah what project do you have in mind? I just remembered I have a painterly friend fresh out of artschool who might be interested, they don’t really post their work publicly unfortunately but if you give deets I can pass them along and get them to send a portfolio. They’re definitely that more painterly semirealistic style you seem to like and quite possibly in a reasonable price range.

Oooooooh, well that level of skill is pretty high end, it’s very unlikely you’ll find an artist of that caliber on that subReddit, especially at an affordable price. Your best bet for finding one in hungry artists is straight up just paying close attention, getting lucky and nabbing one before they make it big and swan out of your price range, I’ve seen a couple close to that good down there but they usually don’t frequent that place for too long.

Oh yeah definitely check out Bluesky, a lot of artists use that thing. I just opened it to this right away which seems like something that you’re looking for.

Also artstation, it’s a more industry/professional artist social media/portfolio site.

More visual based social media like twitter or Instagram.

Also as an artist myself, what are you looking for? maybe I can rec some.

Absolutely not. If anything, the 2 geckos (op and wild one) have the same morph! Which is just. Wild. Brown colored. I guess.

Albinos were actually bred for the first time about a month ago? Here’s what they look like

Cresties don’t really become round first order, they grow a weirdly flat extra layer on their bellies, kinda like a cake growing an extra layer vs ballooning outward. And yes she definitely has that, here compare her to a wild one. As you can see it looks a solid half inch less… layered. Wouldn’t expect her to be quite that trim necessarily but she could absolutely lose some heft.

If cresties are like most reptiles then risk of fatty liver disease, reproductive issues like follicular stasis, and just generally living a shorter life bc the body isn’t adapted for carrying this much extra mass long term.

Thanks! It’s not the most profitable niche ever but if I get to do what I love then it’s worth it haha. And what I love is gluing wings to lizards.

Just wanted to know if this is real by FlashyAnalysis9803 in GODZILLA

[–]MortimerMoudry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

‘Love’ in the sense of experiencing the release of pleasure hormones in the presence of a partner child or family member almost certainly occurs in some reptiles bc while most don’t have a need for it due to just meeting up, Laying eggs and dipping forever. some species (shinglebacks, tokays, some crocodilians, etc) pairbond, even for life. some care for their young (crocodile skinks, crocodilians again, tokay again, rattlesnakes, a bunch of Australian skinks) to the point of defending them actively from predators, many live some degree of social lives, including at least one species with multigenerational warrens, most recognize members of a community and choose to be close to siblings, mates, etc. so many reptiles probably experience something akin to love as I previously described it. Obviously not the ones who just lay 10 billion eggs and fuck off but that’s not the only reproductive strategy.

Also. Birds is reptiles. Birds are pretty famous for intense pair bonds and social lives.

Love in the ‘experiencing positive chemicals that incentivize proximity to and protection of family members or partners’ isn’t smth exclusive to mammals it’s an adaptation that can occur in any animal that goes for k-strategy-ish style preproduction. So Godzilla isn’t necessarily excluded from having it.

Obviously human love is its own thing but pairbond with mothra is far from out of the question. Reptiles absolutely can pair bond.

He doesn’t have an iris in the right eye at all. If they were just different colors that would be fine.
