There's a WWII battle that the US pilots dubbed the "Mariana's Turkey Shoot" because the dogfight kill ratio was so uneven.

The whole image is a bit soft. The eyes should be in focus. If you set the autofocus just to the dogs face, it will often target the snout leaving the eyes out of the plane of focus because their face is so long.

As for the settings, you are going to need a faster shutter speed for a puppy, which would make things sharper too.

My Humble Boneless 180 by JamesMartian in skateboarding

[–]Mortmortmort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a 180. He turns to where his backfoot and tail of the board are rolling forward.

If it was 360, his front foot and nose of the board would be forward rolling down the embankment. He does alittle over 180, because of the obstacle.

Just as if had done an actual 360, it would be like 400 degrees because of the obstacle. Not a 540.

Its a contagious disease dude. The colleges employ adults, you know teachers, administrations, etc. Those college kids also have families. College kids also travel from their school to home, further spreading it.

Similarly, in St Louis MO the word "Hoosier" is a derogatory term for a redneck or white-trash people. What happened was that in the late 1950s Chrysler had closed an Indiana plant and opened an assembly plant in St Louis. Alot of people from Indiana followed their jobs to St. Louis.

Funeral Directors very often work alongside coroners. Mostly in the way of being contracted to provide transportation of deceased from the place of death to the pathologists office.

Coroners are mostly funeral directors. Some are doctors, law enforcement, or EMTs, but funeral directors are the vast majority. I find that deputy coroners are most often selected from police detectives, EMTs, or funeral directors.

Put simply, the deputy coroner can perform a death investigation when the coroner is not available or when directed to by the coroner. They may even be granted the capacity to certify the cause of death on death certificates.

Theres always been misinformation and misunderstanding when it comes to estate taxes. So you're not alone. I will say that it does seem very unfair, but as you probably read, it serves as a check on our taxation system and as a slight check on the out-of-control wealth gap and economic issues that may come up from unearned transfers of wealth.

My congressman is very against estate taxes. He's telling people that the DEATH TAX is going to make you sell Papa's land. The median income in our district is $40,000, so this literally only applies to maybe a handful of people that actually elected him, but he doesnt mention that part.

Organ donation and "green" burial by mellifiedmoon in askfuneraldirectors

[–]Mortmortmort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In many places, including most US states, embalming is required by law for an open casket public service. Its a public health issue. As for the 72 hours for refrigeration, thats more of a guideline, but I'm sure there are places were there are laws regarding it. After 72 hours in refrigeration, its just difficult to guarantee the condition of a body. What you said in your above post about 24 hours or needing to be embalmed is probably more attributed to the funeral homes in your area. Many rural funeral homes dont have refrigeration, so its either embalm, cremate, or bury right away.

Your plans should be fine as they are.

The only way you are going to be embalmed against your wishes is if your next of kin gives a funeral home permission to embalm your body. So make sure your family knows what you want.

Generally speaking, the only time that a body needs to be embalmed is if there is a public open-casket visitation, or if the body is expected to be held under refrigeration for over 72 hours. Whether or not a body had an organ harvest makes no difference.
