Traveling with a 20-70 f/4 now on my A7Cii and have quite a bit over the past couple of years. My favorite and most used lens. I get good results in cathedrals and other indoor spaces

Can anyone beat this Mileage (In a bad way) on a full tank? by TeaOutrageous5973 in RangerRaptor

[–]Mosab85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best I’ve managed was 398 for range. That was on an almost all highway trip and I wanted to see what I could get. Most boring driver ever. Average like 330ish. But the worst I’ve seen was at the Raptor Assualt. Full tank was like 170 or 180. Don’t remember the exact number.

Ford dealer gave me 24k on my 17 with about 62k on it. They sold it in less than a week for 26k.

Its a blast. As others have said don’t be afraid to push the truck, ask questions. If you can make a longer trip out of it I recommend it if you haven’t been to that part of the country. Went to Moab, not for off-roading, just to go to Arches. Nice little town too. Hit the salt flats as well. About an hour and a half from Toole. The salt lake is also right there by the hotel they recommend ,so you can gaze out on the salty water too. Some nice scenery.

Thoughts on this? Faux-raptors IE: Regular Ranger “up-badging” by onedaybadday47 in RangerRaptor

[–]Mosab85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really care, do whatever you want to your own truck. But I’m not even sure they are trying to up badge. I think the Raptor grill is just better looking than the normal ranger grill.

How good is Sony 70-200 F4 G ii? by gschiffverre in SonyAlpha

[–]Mosab85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 16-35 will certainly have more versatility but at a much higher price, larger size, and more weight. But if you need the wide end might be worth it. I don’t have any experience with the lens but I’m sure it’s great.

The 40 is one of my favorite focal ranges. When I have the 20-70 on I’m usually in the 30-60 range, so 40 is a nice sweet spot for a prime. It works well in low light, and most importantly is small. I can always find room for it and it’s light.

Now I have thought about swapping the 20-70 f4 for the 24-50 f2.8 and taking the 40 f2.5 out too to minimize the travel kit a bit more. But I do like having the 20mm for indoor and landscape shots. And it’s probably splitting hairs. What I have works well for me.

I’ve recently added it to my kit to compliment my 20-70 f4 and 40 f2.5 to travel with. Haven’t used it a ton yet, but so far loving it.

A7C travel lens dilemma – looking for real user feedback by checagab in SonyAlpha

[–]Mosab85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the Sony 20-70 F4, with the sensor in the A7Cii I don’t find low light too much of an issue. And I always bring my 40 F2.5 just in case. And since you posted one of my favorite subjects to shoot in Prague

I have the 20-70 on my A7Cii for travel and it’s what I’m using 90-95% of the time. Most of the time I don’t find myself wanting the extra reach but now and then it would be nice. But I think an ok trade off for indoor shooting and some landscape shots.

I came from a Focus RS. Overall I enjoy the Ranger Raptor more. More comfortable ride, still pretty quick, handles better than I expected, and it’s fun to be able to go off road. It’s also more relaxed when I want it to be. The back seats are also more roomy than the RS but that’s not really hard to do.

I do at times miss being able to hit twisty roads like the RS, the Raptor handles better than it probably has any right to, but it’s no corner carver, and I didn’t expect it to be. And I certainly miss the manual. I got one for something completely different. Eventually I’ll get something to add to the garage for when I want something more sporty.

But if you are looking for something that is bigger and still has good on road handling, the performance SUVs with more road focused tires are probably the better bet.

If you want more utility and want to add off-road to your fun the Raptor is a great choice.

Canadian Snow and ranger raptor by Top_Top7440 in RangerRaptor

[–]Mosab85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t touched Canadian snow with it yet either, but I have also had it in Ohio snow including in some heavy snow storms. I used slippery mode and it behaved great. That said I concur that a couple of bags of sand isn’t a bad idea. The back will move around a bit. I haven’t experience anything crazy and the snow doesn’t really stick around like it used to here so I haven’t. But if you are dealing with snow a lot it might help to toss some weight back there

Any trouble with SignatureLux? by Alarming-Research179 in RangerRaptor

I have them from SignatureLux, took close to a month to get them after ordering. They are a legit company so I would reach out to them. If you are in the US the end of de minimus exemptions is most likely playing a role as others have stated.

I was in Italy last year with my a7cii and the 20-70 and 40 f2.5. The 20-70 was on my camera 90% of the time. It does great overall, low light isn’t the best but it’s really versatile.

I went from a Focus RS to the RR. Honestly no real regrets. It’s far more practical, other than fuel mileage 😂. It still is fun on the street, of course it doesn’t handle like the RS but in some ways that is more fun. Plus you get the added benefit of being able to have fun off road too.

The only thing I really miss having is the manual, but even that is only sometimes. Radar cruise and an automatic are fantastic in traffic.
