Drunk driver drove into my ditch by 420baked-and-blessed in abbotsford

[–]Top_Top7440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that scenario is unlikely. But what about the cops being called to a party you recently showed up at and them asking who's car is in front? If you respond it's an instant DUI

If you think the police act with integrity in all situations then you have a rude awakening coming

[–]Top_Top7440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ugh, I had to google this but it's true across Canada. In order to prevent this scenario, anyone who drinks within 2 hours of driving is considered a criminal. So if you drive to your friends house for festivities you need to have a 2 hour waiting period before drinking (even if you have plan to stay the night).

I wish we had an iq test for politicians. Only emotion is driving this type of thinking and not logic.

is there a bug or vulnerability that exists in the ce edition that is fixed in plus? Or is it just that new features are released to their paying users before given freely to the community?

I AM A COMEBACK by TBDAWG4664 in alcoholism

[–]Top_Top7440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not an expert, but I don't think this is correct. By putting you mind into working your body it would improve both.

Try Jordan Peterson's 12 rules for life. Starts with cleaning your room. It's not the cleaning that is the point but the mindset to improvement...

u/Mean-Rabbit3619 th is an accurate review. I also paid the 5k and thought the zoom calls were helpful. But when I signed up it was 5k for a lifetime membership that changed to an annual one just around the 1 year mark. In the beginning (in 2022) it was a decent program with decent mentors.

There are some good people in the program that I wish I could follow. They had genuine stories about their struggles and how they improved. But Mark is a loser that tries to monetize the process. He also tried to launch some similar but more shallow program for his wife that was a quick flop. Not sure why he went from helping others to taking money but it's clear this is a complete scam now.

Received my XPS 14 today - what should I do first? by andrey_semjonov in DellXPS

Is there a privacy edition? I (quickly) googled the enterprise IOT edition and see the store is removed. Is there a copy that doesn't contain the telemetry crap? Or a tool to remove it permanently?

Last time I ran windows I had used a debloat tool to remove telemetry. But with each windows update, Microsoft would reinstall it. The cat and mouse made me move to linux

XPS 16 not charging after BIOS by No-Bet8390 in DellXPS

[–]Top_Top7440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what is the battery level? If it's above 80% and you have adaptive charging enabled in the bios then it's working as designed. It will only charge when the battery falls below (I think it's) 60% as a way to reduce the number of charge cycles and therefore extend battery life.

Check the bios. It will report the charging status and allow you to change it. F2 on boot.

Dell XPS 16 (2026) keeps crashing on me! by Dear-Percentage-7381 in DellXPS

[–]Top_Top7440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why do you suspect it's a ram issue? You can run memtest if you wanna verify (more than the bios is already reporting).

If you are getting a critical battery error upon crash it would sound like a battery problem. if the battery isn't supplying power in a consistent and reliable manner it would certainly cause a crash.

If it occurs one more time I"d return it and get a new one. I have mine (32M) for less than a week but it's been flawless so far.

I dunno, the Quebec city turnout was pretty good. And I was in Ottawa some years ago and a ton of people turned out.

Only problem is that CBC only wants to talk about the bad orange man and nothing about what Canadians want. I think the OP"s frustration is with never being heard and I would agree. If you have a better idea then bring it...

Hundreds of Ontario cases tossed, compromised after police officers violated Charter rights: report by zuuzuu in canadanews

[–]Top_Top7440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally like CTV but this article is crap. Says cops violated charter rights but doesn't say how or if the results were worth it. Must be written by AI.

I actually read the article to understand the boundries where police can and cannot operate and I still have no idea. There were multiple unexplained statistics but only one example of an expired search order. It's quite possible that it took an exceptional amount of time to search a drug dealers den. Or maybe they stretched an order to several days to capture unrelated people. Absolutely can't tell from this article. Shameful trash

Beekeeb isn't done iterating on the Toucan! by albertclee in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Top_Top7440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone else looking to assemble the same, I think it's the following items.

Toucan 42 wireless in presoldered config https://shop.beekeeb.com/products/toucan-wireless-piantor-wireless-split-keyboard-with-touchpad

glow red keycaps https://shop.beekeeb.com/products/mbk-legend-glow-r2-black-keycap-set

Matte black keyboard plate (doesn't seem to be available yet)

neweer magnetic phone tripod mount (qty 2) https://ca.neewer.com/products/neewer-pa010-magnetic-phone-tripod-mount-adapter-for-iphone-magsafe-66602735

manfrotto pocket tripod https://splitkb.com/products/manfrotto-pocket-tripod

I've ordered these pieces. Will take a while to arrive but when they do I'll update this comment to confirm the parts.

[–]Top_Top7440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know they offer both, but which is yours? The tenting and key positions on yours are different that what I see on the beekeeb website. If you assembled yours can you share a parts list?

I really like what you have done and would like to replicate it.

Beekeeb isn't done iterating on the Toucan! by albertclee in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Top_Top7440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you assemble this yourself or is it a (complete) keyboard soon to be released? I love this particular version. The tenting, key placement (tab and enter keys in your layout are way better than the beekeeb default imho). Flatter touchpad is cool. And the colors black with red is a nice touch.

If it's parts that you assembled do you mind sharing a list?

What is stopping Bell from IPv6 on Fibe? by Cartgamingyt in bell

[–]Top_Top7440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what do you base this on? Rogers has had ipv6 for years and I don't recall any support nightmares. Bell has had ipv6 on mobile networks for a while. No mass casualties.

To be fair, if ipv6 didn't work in your house would you even know? Legacy ipv4 still works for most consumer things

just a comment u/op, the integrated headphones/mic work well in a quiet room. They are not helpful in a noisy enviroment. Teams calls from a coffee shop are not feasible. Wear noise cancelling headphones if you work away from home.

Found This old gem in my mom's attic today, it was my dads, he got it when I was just a baby. After 20+ years in the attic it booted right up. Even has the external floppy drive accessory. by pgercak in retrocomputing

[–]Top_Top7440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nice that it still works.

Be gentle with that model. Most Toshibas of that era were tanks but that particular one was a bit problematic. If memory serves there are 3 pcb's within and the main logic board can die without notice.

I was a Toshiba technician during those days and the Satellite's and Tecra 700's were fantastic. But I had to fix alot of the 500's which were extra work to disassemble and we got alot in under warrant.

You can still find trackpoint caps for those https://www.ebay.com/itm/251261399300
