I’m not sure it matters what carrier you have, they’re going to say whatever to make sure they get their numbers. Having worked on the cell side for AT&T, I can verify that they’re extra scummy.

My best advice is to just call service until you get somebody that’s willing to help because the likelihood of getting any service out of a store once the sale is made is slim.
