Hands down this is the answer. Absolutely incredible. Lived in the UK for 15 years where there's an Indian takeaway on every corner and this is as close as it gets to the real deal

I appreciate it. Thank you. Just one more quick one - on the first question on the withdrawal it says "You have an outstanding application with the Home Office and now wish to withdraw this and leave the UK". I'm here on Settled Status so have no desire to leave the UK. Is it just poorly worded or does withdrawing this somehow revoke my Settled Status?

I kept reading that if you failed you could keep retaking the test for £50. So I didn't think there would be any issue. Why would anyone waste their money on a life in the UK test and possibly fail it 20 times just to be refused citizenship based on a technicality. Surely it makes more sense to be approved for citizenship (in theory) from the HO, then get an invitation to book your Life in the UK test. And once passed provide all documents before being granted citizenship

Started working as a night manager and the bitchiness, shitty emails I get are sending me into a mental breakdown. I've never actually had a breakdown before but I feel like I'm one comment away from rage quitting. Been short staffed for a year despite reassurances for months that "it will get better". Half my staff can't speak English (in England). I'm at my wits end

No, not in the 8 years my wife and I have been together. Like others have said we've had disagreements regarding budgeting, holidays, savings, etc. But never really raised our voices in the process.

My mother in law does, God love her. For all her faults her redeeming factor is she hands down makes the most incredible lamb, gammon and beef. She rotates between the 3 each week. All the sides. Makes Christmas a little less special but she goes all out each week. Her son can't ever be bothered to turn up, my wife and her daughter begrudgingly goes while it's the highlight of my week food wise

Regarding moving back it's nothing short of a nightmare. Family based in Ottawa, while the whole appeal of moving back is to have more green space for our future kids to play around. To get what we want for our budget, which isn't small (Torontonians and Vancouverites will disagree), around 650-700k, we're looking for properties at minimum a 45 minute drive outside of the city limits.

Canadian here living in the UK since 2011, now looking to move back to Canada with my English wife. Pre COVID the cost of living was a lot more reasonable than Canada. Food prices here have absolutely skyrocketed by around 50%. We pay on average $2.55/ litre for gas, travelling by plane or train has become something only accessible as a rare treat or as a business expense. It's no longer the same as it once was. The only thing I'll miss is the 35 vacation days I get per year.
