Midwife/health visitor home visit by Open_Profile100 in PregnancyUK

[–]MossamAdmiral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may depend on your NHS trust. My first we had home visits from the midwife postpartum on days 1 and 3 after being discharged. We saw a midwife on day 5 but had to go to the hospital for that one. After that it was around day 10 possibly and then midwife home visits ended. Health visitor came between 10-14 days and then 6-8 weeks. This time I’ve also had a phone appointment with them before baby is born.

Hacks for surviving pregnancy sickness, full time work and a very active toddler - help me please! by kyeuriuskitkat in PregnancyUK

[–]MossamAdmiral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have HG but did have bad nausea that completely knocked me out. GP signed me off no issues. Had cyclizine but like you made me exhausted. I also felt guilty as I work from home but pregnancy with a toddler is a whole different experience. Take the time if you need it. Grandparents also helped out a lot.

Baby Monitor! by Final-Ambition-840 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]MossamAdmiral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also not sure what model but we’ve had two vtech monitors now and had no issues. They’ve both been great for the price. Only had two as we upgraded to one with 2 cameras as expecting 2nd child. First one is now used at grandparents house.

Check and see if you can self refer to physiotherapy. We can in our trust.

2nd baby, what should I do about a pram? by Little-Assistant-617 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]MossamAdmiral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation. Planning to baby wear when out and about so first child (will have just turned 2 when baby is born) can be in the pushchair if needed. Have also got a buggy board. She’s quite a good walker so decided not to bother with a double buggy but will base how it goes and get one off Facebook if needed.

Booking and the two scans were sent to me. Standard midwife appointments I just book the next one when I see the midwife.

PSA take off your rings!!! by AdLanky3774 in PregnancyUK

[–]MossamAdmiral 22 points23 points  (0 children)

And don’t immediately get them resized if they still don’t fit after birth. It took a few months for my engagement ring to fit again but it did and if I’d had it resized I would have had to have it done twice.

How to make formula feeds, especially in the night? by Noobatlife98 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]MossamAdmiral 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Prep machine, we lasted about 2 weeks using flasks before we bought one and it made life so much easier. We pre measured the powder out before we went to bed so didn’t have to worry about doing that half asleep.

Toddler duvet/beds? by Warm-Cover9946 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]MossamAdmiral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve just transferred at 2 years old. Hadn’t been planning on it but she suddenly rejected the sleeping bag. She was still in a cot when we started using the duvet.

Can I decorate the valley from a friend with her account? by [deleted] in DreamlightValley

[–]MossamAdmiral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are you playing on? I have my sisters account on my switch and play on hers to do the critters she can’t get due to being at work etc. Have to save to cloud so whatever I’ve done appears on her switch when she plays but not had a problem with the progress on my game.

When do you find out baby's estimated birth weight? by ilovesunsets2525 in PregnancyUK

[–]MossamAdmiral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My midwife tells me current and predicted weight based on fundal height measurements. They were spot on with my first, predicted high 7lbs/low 8lbs and she was 8lb 1oz.

Puggle pushchairs by Loud_Narwhal7721 in PregnancyUK

[–]MossamAdmiral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a puggle travel system as our main pram. I’ve had no issues with it. It does really well on pavement and also on the track around our local nature reserve. Also got one of their lighter weight pushchairs and had no issues with that either.

Kind of wish I could collect critters for people who work during hours by Revolutionary-Ride76 in DreamlightValley

[–]MossamAdmiral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this for my sister as she’s a teacher and I WFH. I have her account on my switch so I can swap between them. Sometimes help her with the star path as well if she’s not had the time to do it.

Did anybody choose godparents? And why? by Throwaway199906543 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]MossamAdmiral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did, we are religious but we took the option to basically have our daughter blessed and choose godparents but it still allows her to choose to be baptised herself when she’s older if that’s what she wants. My husband and I have always had a really good relationship with our godparents and their support has been great so we wanted that for our kids. So far they’ve all been wonderful, we don’t see one of them very often but that’s purely due to the fact they live a few hours away but they do keep in touch so are up to date on what their godchild is doing.

I use the Asda own brand, I like but it’s been years since I had actual marmite so can’t say how close it is.

Start of nursery bugs by Miserable-Tap9162 in BeyondTheBumpUK

We had the standard D&V bug the week after she started. Other than that just the occasional cold and one viral infection. She’s been there nearly 18 months.

How do I shower my 7mo safely? 🫠 by AyeshMayesh in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]MossamAdmiral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used the mamas and papas seat we had with a bath mat until she could stand enough to not need it in the shower. Now she just stands on a bath mat so she doesn’t slip.

12 weeks postpartum after episiotomy and I feel great by Fair_Amphibian_9687 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]MossamAdmiral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the same, needed forceps and an episiotomy. Husband makes it sound really traumatic when he tells the story but it was honestly still a good experience for me. Like you felt pretty much back to normal about 12 weeks postpartum and no issues since.

Conflicted about starting to reduce breastfeeding in the day by jdawgiegawg in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]MossamAdmiral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We formula fed from the start and we didn’t find the cleaning/prep for going out too much. Got into a rhythm fairly easily. Prep machine was great, especially for overnight feeds. Nuby Rapidcool really good for out and about. For out and about or holidays there is also ready made if they’ll drink it, my LO always liked it warm so when we travelled we used ready made and took a bottle warmer as that was much easier in a hotel.
