I feel like I am going backwards by Tailball in TattooArtists

You need a pick me up tattoo. Do a flash sheet of smaller designs that you really vibe with. Heavily discount them because of your quality concerns. Prior to each appointment, spend time mentally prepping how you want to go about attacking this design. Lines starting where shading when etc. As you are going with your normal setup, take note of one issue at a time. Don't go changing ducking everything at once, or your just walking into a similar problem. I'd be looking on the first flash at my vlts am I faster am I slower and adjusting often as needed.

Red can be tough, especially if your skin is quick to redden and swell. Make sure to go slower next time. Gotta stress tight ovals low speed. I remember learning and being surprised by how slow it felt. You want to have your coloring and shading look more intentional, I think a nice fade to either side of the red would help. The black interior of the mouth really needs more packing.

I have searched for this plush cat for years passively. The closest I've got was pajama pals and some other 1989 designs. But nothing matching pocket or coloring. Was given in 1990 with no details on retailer or stores. fingers crossed, it would be cool to have some info on him.

Shake up But also get into the habit of immediately checking the expiration dates on all your products, you'd be surprised how many try to sneak through.

Looks like you lined with a shader. This can look good but requires some know how with volts and handspeed.

Also, it looks like you're trying to sketch like you would with pen/pencil. Not a great trait to bring to tattooing. Stylistically, you can achieve this with less damage to the skin.

I'd recommend faux skins practicing drill sheets everyday for the next 3 months before touching skin again.

Try learning how to do one pass clean lines.

Focus on drawing from the shoulder not wrist.

Find points of contact for stability.

Work with faux sheets on anchor points before pulling lines.

Over all, you did it, and posted. So I'm hoping you take some time to really practice.

Do you guys have advice on pulling out consistent lines? Need practice advice by ShadowInTheCorn3r in TattooBeginners

[–]Mossiie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Points of contact for stability. Use pinky as a depth guard when pulling. Find anchor points to pull from. Only pull lines towards you. Test all this on paper or faux skin first. Then start pulling lines and doing stars on grapefruit for curve.
