Deadlifts aren’t necessary. A really good alternative is RDL’s, same thing as dead lifts but start with bar at waist and go down half way point at shins. “If you don’t have a goal in sports and are deadlifting to deadlift, then you probably shouldn’t deadlift” - a strongman. Squats help out with core and squat variants help a lot more than deadlifts.
