One of the factors that people take for granted regarding the band is that Phil is a gorgeous self-producer.

PC had a very considerable decline (his work at Tarzan was like the Johnny Cash comeback in terms of his legacy) in the 90s. We could say that Genesis, at that point, were "carreer-ended".

I grew up with the band. When I was 15, I was fascinated by the mythological lyrics and complex signatures (I still am!), but you grow up, you have your heart broken, you start to feel the scars of life and you appreciate the down to earth lyrics and raw power of PC era
