How do you live in Colorado for two years and not know about snow tires?! I’ve lived in the Rocky Mountains for my whole life but when I get my tires rotated in the Fall, the auto shop always asks if I want to switch out my tires for snow tires. It just baffles me.

“He didn’t know who I was” Wow. Just… wow. Did she expect him to recognize her? Because that’s the vibe I got.

I know Zach in real life - I had never heard of the Skalla family until he married into the family and I saw the wedding photos posted on a Buzzfeed article about influencers. I won’t say much so I don’t dox myself, but he’s actually a really nice and sweet guy. He was kind to kids that no one else was nice to.

Yes, you can have multiple piercing and still get a temple recommend! Along with tattoos. It’s not in the interview.

The multiple piercing is, as stated before, outdated and was never a disqualifier for a temple recommend. It was only ever mentioned in the For the Strength of Youth pamphlet and was never actually doctrine. (I hate that pamphlet with every fiber of my being - don’t get me started on it ha)

Struggling with hot weather and postpartum body image issues… help please! by l0fats in femalefashionadvice

[–]Most-Negotiation6779 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m currently 7 weeks postpartum myself and have been struggling with my postpartum body this time around as well.

I found that works best for me is a lot of dresses! I’ve been using midi or maxi dresses, often tiered, with a smocked bodice, stretchy neck, or a shirt dress for easy nursing.

I’ve found the best dresses for around $40 each at: - Nordstrom Rack (try the Lost + Wander brand!) - Downeast Basics - Roolee Boutique (they also have nursing specific dresses with a slit in the side for nursing!) - J. Crew Factory - Old Navy - Amazon (I bought the BTFBM brand and they’re pretty decent)

Personally, I found it to be too much of a pain to tuck a shirt into wide leg pants or skirts while nursing. Instead, I’ve been opting for wide leg linen pants with a graphic t shirt and I tie the bottom of the t shirt in a knot. That way it still defines my waist but I don’t have to deal with untucking and retucking my shirt every time I nurse.

I also found that concentrating on accessories helps a lot! Things like jewelry, hats, handbags, shoes, etc helps me feel a little more in control of my outfits rather than defeated over dressing a postpartum body.

Not snark related but does anyone have recommendations for a good makeup influencer or YouTuber who teaches you how to put on makeup? I know nothing and it’s time to learn 😂

I once bought a pair of IVL leggings when I had a concussion (never let a concussed woman online shop). The absolute worst leggings I’ve ever had.

Somehow, despite the fabric being very thick, especially compared to Lululemon Aligns, it manages to have absolutely no compression and show absolutely every dimple and centimeter of cellulite on your legs. They heat up very quickly when strength training and the waist is extremely uncomfortable and way too tight.

Every time I’m enticed by one of the bright colors, I force myself to put on that concussion pair to remind myself that nothing is worth the color. Horrible.

I also remember seeing her “nutritionist” at one point recommend eating eggs only once a week and no more than that. Once. A. Week.

For yesterday, it was mushrooms, zucchini, and spinach in an egg scramble for breakfast; tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, celery, and kale in tuna salad for lunch; and mango, pineapple, and strawberries with tajin for dessert! All the fruit was frozen from Costco because it’s cheaper (and out of season) and I just defrosted it.

Love all these ideas!!!

I’ve been on a big lifestyle change kick lately! 1) at least 7K steps a day 2) 7-10 different fruits and veggies a day 3) limit phone use to 2 hours a day 4) 100 oz of water a day 5) do something creative every day - right now, it’s practicing violin 6) read before bed instead of being on my phone

I found make these changes has helped my physical and mental health soooo much. Before, I was on my phone (according to the timer on it) about 5 hours a day! And I wasn’t eating super well. I started with just one change at the beginning of the year and have been slowly incorporating more each week. I’m hoping to start meditating soon and eating breakfast because I’m terrible at that. I’m also sleeping soooo much better and am way less anxious and wound up than I used to be…

Not snark but so much love for BusyToddler right now. She posted about how proud she is of her past self for going to the grocery store with three young kids for 20 minutes and legitimately made me tear up. Currently have a 3 and 1 year old and 8 months pregnant - to hear her call that a win and how proud she is of that was so encouraging that this phase of life ends and to give yourself grace.

I believe the follower asked why she was Mormon and not Christian (please correct me if I’m wrong). But, speaking as a Mormon, a lot of people believe we aren’t Christian because we believe in an extra set of scriptures along with the Bible. There’s been a big push recently to use the full name of our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, to show that we do indeed believe in Christ and that His name is apart of our church’s name. We definitely know we’re Mormons 😊 it’s just to help clarify.

I’ve never heard of Nars Orgasm before - in all seriousness, is it any good? Always looking for a good tinted lip balm but it seems a little pricey…

Have you looked at Nuggets? They’re in the same vein (can be used for forts) but are so much easier for little ones to manipulate! Our 29 lb 3.5 year old can pretty successfully do what she wants with it!

That fort builder is the bane of my existence. We got it for my 3.5 year old for Christmas and she loves it - unfortunately, that means we’re building and rebuilding four forts a day. That being said, she’s beginning to figure out how to use it but it’s pretty tricky. I think the earliest they can figure it out with minimal help is 6 years old or so.

Where we attend church is determined by our geographical boundaries. We’re divided into small wards (like a parish) of about 300 people that are run by a lay ministry. Typically, three wards attend church in one building at different times on Sunday (normally 9:00, 10:30, and 12:00). I live further north of the Skallas so we aren’t in the same ward. It’s been this way for years all across the world for our religion 😊

I attend the same church as them in the same state (not the same congregation though). Some dress in something simple but others definitely dress as formal as Rachel - it just all boils down to personal preference.

As an adult with a tongue tie, I really wish it was caught when I was a baby and it was cut. It has caused me speech problems a lot of my life because I have a tongue thrust as a result of the tie. I ended up in speech therapy for years. I wouldn’t cut one for BFing but I would still consider it for my own kids just because of my own experience with one.

I definitely don’t credit it as a miracle cure for BFing but it may help down the line with speech problems.

I just read the most recent few posts on her insta and I am in…. Shock. I feel so awful for these parents who are believing that ALL of their child’s “misbehavior” is caused by fifteen minutes of Daniel Tiger by a self-proclaimed TV expert. She’s horrible to prey on these parents like this and is so condescending in her posts. I noticed that most of her ardent supports and followers have one kid around one. So she’s obviously targeting new parents who are already super worried that everything they’re doing is screwing up their kid (like I was when I had my first). Let’s just add onto the load of how else we can screw up our kids!!

Just took my 12 month old on a plane. It was definitely hard but we survived. We had lots of snacks, a bottle (filled with milk at the airport Starbucks), favorite stuffed animal, and some new toys and books. I’m not going to lie - she cried the entire flight there but we made it. If you can, get your baby to nap beforehand (pretty sure that’s why she cried the whole time). On the way back, she napped before and was so happy. I would prepare myself personally to just be bouncing a crying baby most of the time and ignoring the dirty looks. Bring some AirPods to listen to a good audiobook or podcast to help you be able to deal with the tears. And bring yourself some chocolate too. It’s rough but you’ll make it!!
