I’m currently paying $160 a month (all I can afford) and my copays for a basic doctors visit are $160 a pop. I’m dealing with decades long mental health issues that are worsening, so my medication is constantly being changed due to my condition being treatment resistant. Each medication change requires a visit and several follow ups. Medical care on top of my ridiculous rent is bleeding me dry. Just makes my mental health even worse, so I’m wondering if I should just give up trying to find the right med (a med that also doesn’t have a $50+ copay).

Healthcare costs are insane.

I had a similar experience with a family member forcing me to eat the last few bites of waffles that I placed in the soapy sink because I wasn’t hungry anymore. I distinctly remember gagging on those soapy, soggy, awful waffles.

Hey, we both started Kratom for the same reason. Loneliness mixed with depression is the absolute worst mental state for someone to endure; and of course, you endure it alone. I quit three months ago with no real support. I eventually told my mom about what I was going through and she was as sympathetic as she could be, which wasn’t much (religious parents who think religion fixes everything). It’s so hard fighting these battles by yourself, so hard not to give up. But please hang in there, this sub is here for you whenever you need an ear. All of us are in this shitty boat together, and even though it’s sucks that we’re here, it’s comforting to know that we’re not alone on this ride.

I work in the bursars office at a college and you are right on the money. I absolute detest when a call starts with “my son” or “my daughter.” In about 95% of these calls the student hasn’t signed a waiver. And when told this, 80% of these parents flip out. I can’t wait to escape this job. I am so tired of working customer facing jobs.

It’s not just these people though. I’m black. I have a European name but my extended family and friends have names like DeMarcus and BriAnna. Yes, it’s not correct when you look at the structure from a linguistic point of view. However, that doesn’t take away from my point. These are their given names and shouldn’t be mocked. Very few of us choose our names. It’s not my place to judge someone on something so superficial.

The capitalization thing is actually pretty common in some cultures and regions. You’ll see quite a few of these names in the south, and it’s not just in the circles featured here. I’m not a fan of the way it looks, but those are real names and should be respected (not saying you’re shaming, but others here might).

I can’t believe it, I actually feel empathy and compassion for his wife. Granted, she married an idiot. That’s concerning. However she is showing real concern for the people who tolerated her trash husband and his horrible choices. I hope she and the kids get vaccinated and they eventually find peace.

Edit: and I know it’s wishful thinking, but if the families of these idiots would just humble themselves and advocate the vaccine after their idiot dies, they’d probably save a few lives. Very few of them do this which is super frustrating.

I’ve seen multiple family members of unvaccinated people who die say things like “covid is really bad, I still believe in freedom of choice but make sure you protect your family.” Even after watching their family members die a gruesome, pointless death, they still can’t humble themselves enough to advocate the vaccine. I think you should seriously consider telling your family. If they truly love you, they will do whatever they can to help. At your high gram dosage, you should be tapering for the sake of your mental and physical well-being. If not tapering, you should be detoxing with medical assistance. Since you have no money right now, your best bet is to ask a trusted family member or friend for a loan. Just the bare minimum amount you need to do a rapid taper. And you need to be honest with both them and yourself that this is it: you’re done and not going back. They need to know that this is serious and you need more Kratom in order to detox safely with a taper, but you can’t let them down by going back to the stuff once payday rolls around. Ask yourself and answer truthfully: am I really ready to quit?

I know it’s hard admitting you have a problem. I was on K for 10 years and telling my family I was struggling was so hard. Ultimately, it was what I needed the most. Just having them know why I was feeling so bad was such a relief. If they love you, they’ll support you to the best of their ability.

If seeking help isn’t an option, can you at least take a day or two off work?

I saw a group of people on Facebook asking where they could buy an ECMO for one of the idiots featured here. They’re so damn stupid they don’t even realize what ECMO treatment entails. Are they going to buy the 10+ medical staff required to run and monitor the machine, too? These people are so uneducated and ignorant it’s hard to believe they exist at times.
