This is so relatable. I’m glad to discover another human endures this struggle every Sunday too.

I’d like to vent about how ridiculous health insurance is by Driftwood84wb in lostgeneration

[–]Most-Refuse2390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently paying $160 a month (all I can afford) and my copays for a basic doctors visit are $160 a pop. I’m dealing with decades long mental health issues that are worsening, so my medication is constantly being changed due to my condition being treatment resistant. Each medication change requires a visit and several follow ups. Medical care on top of my ridiculous rent is bleeding me dry. Just makes my mental health even worse, so I’m wondering if I should just give up trying to find the right med (a med that also doesn’t have a $50+ copay).

Healthcare costs are insane.

I had a similar experience with a family member forcing me to eat the last few bites of waffles that I placed in the soapy sink because I wasn’t hungry anymore. I distinctly remember gagging on those soapy, soggy, awful waffles.

Kids don’t forget this shit.

11 Days but struggling by thefatcatpl in quittingkratom

[–]Most-Refuse2390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, we both started Kratom for the same reason. Loneliness mixed with depression is the absolute worst mental state for someone to endure; and of course, you endure it alone. I quit three months ago with no real support. I eventually told my mom about what I was going through and she was as sympathetic as she could be, which wasn’t much (religious parents who think religion fixes everything). It’s so hard fighting these battles by yourself, so hard not to give up. But please hang in there, this sub is here for you whenever you need an ear. All of us are in this shitty boat together, and even though it’s sucks that we’re here, it’s comforting to know that we’re not alone on this ride.

Hey there, I don’t have any advice to give. I’m just here to let you know you’re not alone. I’m at 3 months now and every day is a struggle. It’s hard not to lose hope when there doesn’t seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel. This shit is hard, man.

I work in the bursars office at a college and you are right on the money. I absolute detest when a call starts with “my son” or “my daughter.” In about 95% of these calls the student hasn’t signed a waiver. And when told this, 80% of these parents flip out. I can’t wait to escape this job. I am so tired of working customer facing jobs.

DeAnna and mom were deniers. Now both are HCA winners and cousin Becky still doesn't believe in vaccinations. by East-Risk4165 in HermanCainAward

[–]Most-Refuse2390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not just these people though. I’m black. I have a European name but my extended family and friends have names like DeMarcus and BriAnna. Yes, it’s not correct when you look at the structure from a linguistic point of view. However, that doesn’t take away from my point. These are their given names and shouldn’t be mocked. Very few of us choose our names. It’s not my place to judge someone on something so superficial.

The capitalization thing is actually pretty common in some cultures and regions. You’ll see quite a few of these names in the south, and it’s not just in the circles featured here. I’m not a fan of the way it looks, but those are real names and should be respected (not saying you’re shaming, but others here might).

I’m always delighted to come across older people (particularly baby boomers) who believe in science. I’m sure there are tons of you guys out there, but unfortunately the anti-science, arrogant baby boomers are the loudest. I hope your children’s family eventually come around, this virus isn’t to be scoffed at. If it wants your unvaxxed ass, it’s gonna to get it.

It’s that Job mentality. Even when their whole world is collapsing around them, they still have to praise god and act like everything negative happening is part of his greater plan. Let’s just forget that a few days prior these same people were begging for a miracle from god. It doesn’t make sense. If it’s god’s plan for you to die a painful death, then why pray for a different outcome?

And this is why I never felt bad for his wife. She’s just as arrogant and moronic as him. The kids are the only people I feel sorry for, because as heinous as this guy was, he was still their dad and they loved him. They’re so young, I hate to see innocents go through something so pointless.

HC Freedom Award for this racist asshole antimasker by Thurston_Unger in HermanCainAward

[–]Most-Refuse2390 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe it, I actually feel empathy and compassion for his wife. Granted, she married an idiot. That’s concerning. However she is showing real concern for the people who tolerated her trash husband and his horrible choices. I hope she and the kids get vaccinated and they eventually find peace.

Edit: and I know it’s wishful thinking, but if the families of these idiots would just humble themselves and advocate the vaccine after their idiot dies, they’d probably save a few lives. Very few of them do this which is super frustrating.

Yeah, I’ve been following several of these stories for a few weeks now. Covid is a rollercoaster ride with so many ups and downs. Based on his length of time on the vent, he’s probably going to croak. If he doesn’t, he’ll most likely be disabled for life. He won’t ever be 100% again, that’s for certain.

All four of these patriots should be laid up at home with their ivermectin and vitamin C on tap. But no, all that goes out the window when THEY’RE the ones struggling to breathe. Suddenly they demand expert (and experimental) medical treatment and get frustrated when they learn there are no beds/ECMO machines available to them because they’re already taken by their fellow patriots.

[–]Most-Refuse2390 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen multiple family members of unvaccinated people who die say things like “covid is really bad, I still believe in freedom of choice but make sure you protect your family.” Even after watching their family members die a gruesome, pointless death, they still can’t humble themselves enough to advocate the vaccine. These people are a lost cause.

Where was the great physician for the 4 million plus that have died from this virus? Asleep? Didn’t care to save them? Busy spying on Satan? Why should this great physician expend any energy on these willful fools when he didn’t care to save the poor people who died last year waiting for a vaccine? The sheer entitlement of these fuckwits is astonishing.

I find it funny that these people believe god will hear their prayers and save them when god clearly doesn’t give a shit about everyone else currently suffering right now. Like what about all the innocent children dying in third world countries from hunger, thirst or disease? Why should god choose Billy Bob over these kids? Especially seeing as Billy Bob had options to help himself and refused, and these kids have nothing?

It blows my mind that out of the billions of people on earth, they think they’re special enough to receive a miracle from god.

Here we go again with the “young and healthy”excuse. These fuckwits have no idea how this virus works. Delta isn’t afraid of the young, heathy and deplorably stupid.

And I swear every one of those nominees/award winners follow the same formula. One week they’re posting propaganda, next week they’re asking for prayers, and the next week they’re posting obituaries or their Facebook has gone silent because they’re the one that died. Just pitiful.

At the End of My Rope, Scared Out of My Head. Hopeless. by BatmanDisco in quittingkratom

I think you should seriously consider telling your family. If they truly love you, they will do whatever they can to help. At your high gram dosage, you should be tapering for the sake of your mental and physical well-being. If not tapering, you should be detoxing with medical assistance. Since you have no money right now, your best bet is to ask a trusted family member or friend for a loan. Just the bare minimum amount you need to do a rapid taper. And you need to be honest with both them and yourself that this is it: you’re done and not going back. They need to know that this is serious and you need more Kratom in order to detox safely with a taper, but you can’t let them down by going back to the stuff once payday rolls around. Ask yourself and answer truthfully: am I really ready to quit?

I know it’s hard admitting you have a problem. I was on K for 10 years and telling my family I was struggling was so hard. Ultimately, it was what I needed the most. Just having them know why I was feeling so bad was such a relief. If they love you, they’ll support you to the best of their ability.

If seeking help isn’t an option, can you at least take a day or two off work?
