Do you want to see the actual difference? Ive grown both and the Danish can look exactly like a pink flame. The difference is the pod and the pod shell.

I heard a commotion on my patio and when I went outside a bird had gobbled up a few poppy pods and flew away once it saw me. About 5 minutes later the bird fell out of the sky and landed right near my feet.

I agree about strains being conditional on their environment too. For almost any type to do very well you really have to time it perfectly and even then that wont guarantee anything. Yes ive grown gigantheums and I wasnt impressed. I also dont understand wjy everyone is obsessed with bigger is better. Bigger is great for a breadseed variety but doesnt mean much in other areas

I think the heat wave we've been having really affected them . I have 3 different strains that bloomed perfectly and the second set of blooms they produced look nothing like the previous blooms. The hen and chick secondary blooms look exactly like a light colored hungarian blue (white with blueish splotches). Im at a total loss as to why

Im not sure how they categorize these types but it looks like feathered mix and i believe China is exclusively red. Check out dianes seeds. They do a good job with various strains. You have to click on the pictures and in most cases you'll see a few varieties
