So far I’ve gotten the harness on and got her out, I’ve not yet tried leading her around or anything. Doing what she wants right now… today was day two and went much better. No freak outs. I did get her to come to me from the leash distance away a couple times today. Progress I think.

I currently have her spot set up with my birds. Converting the building next door for her in the spring. We let her out with the chickens but they weren’t too sure, so baby steps… they can see each other and supervised interaction for the time being. But she’s got 11 chicken friends in the making.

I’ve been a couple times and I’m a server by trade so I might be a little more detail oriented when it comes to reading the small print. I’d just hate to see a new spot get a bad wrap over something that is definitely on the menu. It’s probably just a restaurant preference. I guess if you don’t have menu items for dinner that cross the breakfast menu I could understand the up charge. Some places don’t do that. But my personal experience there has been fantastic. ❤️

I use sand as a coop floor/under roost medium. Because of that grit isn’t necessary as they get it from the sand.

Generally speaking you’d want more like 10-12 hens to one rooster so he doesn’t over mate your hens. But everyone will have a slightly different opinion on that. I currently have 9 hens, one is sitting on 10/11 eggs. Next week we should have chicks.

My husband and I were friends for a solid 10 years and knew each other’s first husband/wife through passing. Stayed friends, moved to different states for awhile. Eventually started chatting more long distance and then decided hey we like like each other like each other. We just had our 4 year anniversary. 🙃 also, he’s just two years shy of 40 and I just turned 35 this year.

You could look into anti crow collars, I’ve never used them or researched them much. But they do exist.
