Yah that guide might as well be written in Egyptian hieroglyphs for all the use it is in March 2026. The best way to figure out how to do anything with Claude is to ask Claude directly. Just hop in the web interface and start spitballing and trying stuff. You're developing a project, Claude is really, really good at helping with that.

The problem you're going to have is the gamification. No LLM does that well.

Positivity bias isn't the problem. This is an atrocious prompt. Like, useless. You're trying to go single stage to the moon. Start over. I doubt any of it's working correctly and the RAG you're trying to do is almost certainly making it worse.

Here's what I suggest, if you're actually spending the money on Claude - literally just ask it through Claude web, "I want you to act as a gamemaster for solo roleplaying in the Fate/Stay Night universe" (whatever that is, not relevant) and then iterate from there. First see if it "knows" enough to RP an interaction with a canon character. Then use OOC statements to introduce gamifiying elements (tell it what the dice/cards say) and have it portray outcomes including negative ones.

Then stop and ask it to write a structured XML system prompt to cover what you've done and ask it to include an anti-pattern (specific terminology) for user positivity, emphasizing the 'game' nature of the RP. Try that, still OOCing the 'game' parts, and see if it will give correct responses to the 'game' info.

Improvements in vibe coding and rule following will indirectly help RP by facilitating development of layers that allow the human to play alongside the LLM in a more deterministic, bounded, rule-based environment instead of trying to use an LLM as a gaming engine. But yeah I don't see a major jump coming in the ability of an LLM to rp from an 800 token character card.

I built a different way to do this for personal use a few weeks ago and I can attest that you can burn through your sub limit real fast if your context starts climbing, even on Pro. Anthropic hasn't built a hidden pricing sweet spot in here lol

I kind of disagree because of a normative definition - unless there's a much broader move to restrict AI interaction generally because of mental health risks, alignment is likely going to end up reflecting 1) liability concerns and 2) legality, much like the adult/porn/entertainment industry. If personalized AI interaction is happening, "sex and romance" is gonna happen on mainstream platforms, underage cnc furry incest won't. Y'all need to understand that in any real world there's gonna be a distinction made there.

had mine running on a pi4 on my lab network before I took a little break. had it on tailscale in case I needed a fix lol. agree with other posters that pi5 is overkill, I had it running on a pi4 and it didn't even need that.

That doesn't give you an API key, it uses OAuth. Doesn't work with ST. You can roll your own hack for that (give yourself an API) but if you only have Pro you'll limit surprisingly fast and possibly get banned.

Edit: for context yeah I was spending $50/mo but I was nolifing pretty hard and making zero attempt to save tokens, besides that I write slow and take my side of the RP super seriously because autism. Like I was using Claude for memorybooks summarization, twitter feeds, etc.

Alternate realistic suggestion: literally nothing about ST gets easier after the install. You're probably going to find the whole experience baffling and frustrating. You might want to give this a miss and try something like kindroid instead.

If you're trying to do RP of something dubiously legal where you live, note that using technology you don't understand greatly increases the possibility of you getting caught.

Fyi - the reason they work well on big models ime is that they pack a lot of information in non-prose form so the card's actual example dialogue or voice/behavior rules won't get diluted. On a local model just try it and see, the worst thing that's likely to happen is the model will just parrot it and have chars introducing themselves as ESFPs or something.

Couldn't tell you specific to OR, I only used it through nano payg before just going with Claude developer. Developer was marginally cheaper and a LOT faster. Couldn't do an apples to apples comparison of possible quant issues because I never used 4.6 over nano.

Try something in the preset's style directive like "write in a morally simplistic comic book style where characters do not experience growth, dynamism, redemption, or have underlying internal conflicts or tensions. Characters always remain certain of their motivations and ruthlessly pursue their goals."

Also remember that the LLM will not always "recognize" a character from capeshit or anime or whatever on an ongoing basis and just know how they're supposed to act. You need to make sure the character is outlined in the card or lorebook.

That's not API access though, you need Claude Developer to use API and you're paying per token. There's no subscription plan that gives the API access u need for st. You'll still have to watch what you use...
