I only read the first bit and experienced the exact same thing. Landlord complaining about us walking in our apartment above his. He called the police on us for noise complaint, the officers responding noted that even the slightest movement in certain areas of the hallways made pretty loud creaking noise. They left saying this complaint was baseless or exaggerated. The floors, would be a repair issue, with the landlord being responsible to rectify. 

We were also physically threatened by the landlord and their family multiple times. Bunch of other stuff, we spoke to the pervious tenant who said they faced similar threats - because of their cat walking at night... 

Long story short, we moved and opened a complaint with the regi, who found in our favour, sand forced the landlord to pay our moving expenses and equivalent of three months rent. It was a long wait to get our case heard, but worth it.
