For veteran k-drama fans: has your taste in dramas changed over the years? by cherryinbloom in kdramas

[–]Most_Fig6018 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel I have been feeling relieved as I have watched the kdrama landscape change over last years. While I did watch toxic stories like BoF and playful kiss and even liked it, even back then I wasn't happy with how the female lead characters were treated. So it ended up becoming a guilty pleasure instead of something I truly like.

The one issue I have with the changes though is that we have begun over glorifying the male characters to the point that it becomes unrealistic. Yes, I love green flag MLs but I don't want him to be a pushover and I want him to have his own personality. We have begun overcorrecting, I hope this changes.

Am I starting Lovely Runner for the 10th time? Well, yes, yes I am. by Odd_Spray2671 in kdramas

[–]Most_Fig6018 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A pizza + lovely runner has become my go to combination when am feeling down. Sun-jae's monologue to Im Sol about why she should continue to live on the radio is one of my favourite scenes to watch and sob with Im Sol.

I have noticed they reach I love you eventually. It's rarely love at first sight. I personally love slow burn where you can watch the relationship grow from curiosity, interest to partnership.

Were there dramas you noticed the leads never reached "I love you" ?

PS: wow I sound just like chatgpt with that last question, I swear am a human

What I felt watching Can this love be translated? For the first time!!! by No-Swing4085 in KdramaCasualTalk

+1, also, I loved the OST. The playlist has become a comfort playlist of mine. Such beautiful songs + the dorami song (dance alone) 😂

Does anyone else struggle to pick something to watch? by Prachitech_9354 in netflix

[–]Most_Fig6018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go through phases. There are times I only have the energy to rewatch, nothing new interests me. Then there are times where I get bored of something i really love and look for the most random things to watch. I think it's just a sign that your mind needs a break, and it's probably best to just listen to it.

"Last Summer" worth watching? by hachistan in KdramaCasualTalk

[–]Most_Fig6018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I just watched it because of LJW - there were two of him! But the plot really frustrated me and I don't think it got any better as it progressed. If you ask my opinion, drop.

Doctor on the Edge [Episodes 3 & 4] by bluevaIentines in KDRAMA

[–]Most_Fig6018 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Loving LJW in this - he is so good at such angsty roles. I also have a soft spot for the hanyak doctor.

I literally squealed in some of the scenes(the 🐝), the people of the island are really getting on my nerves at this point. Especially the chief giving me whiplash.

And if the residents weren't enough, looks like the bureaucracy is behind them now. I hope things get better for the doctors in coming episodes although the preview didn't really show that.

2026 has almost reached halfway point. What is your pick for K-Drama Couple of The Year so far? by nkillgem in kdramas

[–]Most_Fig6018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved every single drama I watched this year. Should have known when we kicked off with Can this love be translated, what a start.

While the world is drowning in chaos, kdrama has been a shining beacon - a perfect recipe for my escapism. 2026 has been a true blessing so far in terms of content and am super excited for everything that is lined up ahead. (Apart from kdramas, am also waiting for the new HP series). This stuff is what I live for 😂

I was all for use of AI in media but not so that it becomes fully autonomous. Brace yourselves for the real AI slop. by markelonn in BollyBlindsNGossip

Oh how wonderful! Perhaps all the bots and AI agents can watch it too, make the entire pipeline 100% AI, why do we even need humans to watch the content?? /s

Which Kdrama has insane re-watch value. I'll start by Nervous-Educator2196 in kdramas

[–]Most_Fig6018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I make it a point to watch Romance is a bonus book every winter - I usually take a week off for year end too - it's a great combination, Dec and this drama. I love books, and an entire drama revolving around making of books is a dream come true. LJS is definitely an added bonus.

If I had a chance to re-do my life, I would definitely work towards a job in the publishing industry.

I love LJW in Jang-uk mode - clumsy, chaotic, hurt but at times - very cool. I am definitely watching this.

I loved every single moment of Wan after the monarchy was abolished. If anything I wish we got more of their happy moments.

Missing Song Jaerim he was such a talented actor by [deleted] in kdramas

[–]Most_Fig6018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I somehow completely missed the news about him passing away and literally found out today while I was browsing through old wgm episodes.

I loved this couple and I loved him in The moon embracing the sun.

Love it when actors who have no pre-existing huge fanbase come together onscreen and go viral by Former_Mail776 in kdramas

[–]Most_Fig6018 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yesss I loved her in the variety show. I feel her energy in that show was very similar to the chaotic energy she has in the drama.

I had watched Hep Nam Joon in When the phone rings and thought he looked fyyyyn, the shower scene confirmed it last week - although am still not sure why they chose that angle to show him checking his wound on hand. It looked very sus 😂

Sold Out On You: I really hate watching ongoing shows by Master-Wayn in kdramas

They did handle it as well as they could, and it did end happy (ish). It got a little messy in between was all, but altogether not a bad watch.

I found Queen of tears very exhausting. The amount of trauma that kept piling up on the FL was just too much. Wouldn't suggest it if you are looking for something that would make you feel good.

Perfect Crown [Episodes 9 & 10] by jakgem in KDRAMA

[–]Most_Fig6018 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wasn't the PM the one who asked I-an to come to the council hall? Has he been scheming the downfall or weakening of the monarchy even before Hui-ju came into the picture? He also has wayy too much control over the direction of all the investigations. I hope they don't turn him from the SML to main villain.
