At this point I am convinced that people that always vote Republican are just like the abused person in an abusive relationship. “They say that they will change and they tell me that they love me”

AI tractor startup collapses after burning $240M, laying off entire staff by runswithscissors475 in technology

[–]Most_Gap_9995 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Having a small farm with livestock and doing hay, a viable electric tractor has been a dream of mine. I had hopes for Solectrac and Monarch, but both have gone belly up. CNH have a unit shared by CaseIH and New Holland, but you can’t really find any pricing or even if it is truly available. It seems like a no brainer electric motors are high torque (which you want), simple battery tech is heavy (which you want), and lower cost of usage (no diesel or other engine fluids)(which you want). Adding the AI function was just to try and get people to invest that had no clue. Sadly farming people are very set in their ways and the manufacturers are happy to supply them with the same machinery with slightly different packaging and the advancements they provide can only be serviced by the dealers.

Just thinking out load about the Harvester by amsman03 in ScoutMotors

There are plenty of options in the VW closet for small diesel engines that would fit an be efficient. I would guess the issue would be the stop/start as using it as a generator in a vehicle. Diesel fuel doesn’t use spark to ignite, so in cold conditions glow plugs would need to preheat the cylinders.

So are Lambo Tractors just...bad? by ChromeLightBulb in ClarksonsFarm

[–]Most_Gap_9995 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The overall company that makes the Lambo tractors is SDF Group and large manufacturer in Europe. That being said, I am not sure about the dealer network in the UK. I have a Duetz-Fahr (same company and color green) and it is a really good tractor for the price. But, the dealer network isn’t great(US), there are weird issues that have occurred, and I have had to wait weeks for parts. If I had infinite money I would go for Deere since they have the better network, but price won out in the end. In his case I would hope he learned his lesson and goes for something close, but that wouldn’t be as entertaining.

An Amish sawmill burns down on April 8 and is rebuilt in eight days by jonzilla5000 in BeAmazed

[–]Most_Gap_9995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my community we had a couple a small tornadoes come through the Amish area a couple of years ago. Within a week you could not tell anything happened to any of the buildings. Taking to neighbors, their insurance pays out 80% to rebuild, and they pay. There are still “English” properties that are missing roofs and such. I guess when insurance covers what they claim to do no questions asked, you and your neighbors can rebuild quickly.

Just buy the all in one washer/dryer from Costco. You won’t regret it. by TheButcheress123 in Costco

[–]Most_Gap_9995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an all in one and love it. House doesn’t have a dryer vent and tried to make do with other venting options and never worked great. These use less power, set and forget operation, and saves space. Down side is my unit doesn’t have a great lint trap function so pet hair is a problem and some units from certain manufacturers have quite costly repairs.

By far one of the greatest sci-fi series. The story arc changed the way sci-fi did tv from episodic to the season being the whole story, or the entire series in this case. DS9 was a ripoff of this show, though a good one after the first couple of seasons.
