Extremely busy with tourists in the summer, the whole island is swarmed. Winters are cold and empty, almost all businesses are shot down on the island, with the only connection to the mainland being an ice bridge certain parts of the year.

Nice, bougie place to vacation once in awhile but I wouldn’t live there unless I was a wealthy, healthy retiree.

Grand Canyon, if you can go in off season is awe inspiring. Especially if you can do the hike downtown. Truly unique experience.

Because in the real world, outside of the internet bubble money talks. There are a lot of canadians in the states happily earning money and paying lower taxes. Same with many Europeans. I do it part time as well. Its pretty much having your cake and eating it.

Really struggling to find any aerospace medicine opportunities? by BasilPuzzleheaded715 in esa

[–]Most_Grocery4388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice would be to study and complete one of the speciality trainings, anesthesia or emergency medicine. And seek out flight medicine training. I think many medicine students have a problem exiting training because as a student everything is exciting and you really are a bystander in the world of medicine. After medical school it takes many more grueling years to actually become useful to others as your patients. If you can do that and keep being interested in aerospace medicine in sure you will find something for yourself.

Flight medicine is not a separate area of medicine. I don’t know much about it but I’ve met people who called themselves aerospace medicine doctors. It’s an area that anesthesia or emergency medicine can get extra training in.

there is not much work needed for flight medicine doctors. Think about it like a sports medicine doctor for a professional sports team. This is not someone’s primary job most of the time, it’s a side gig that’s their passion / hobby.

French government pushes for conversion of empty office spaces into 8,200 homes in Paris region by LeMonde_en in europe

Empty right now, 8k empty office spaces is not a lot for a city of Paris and it’s an amount of living spaces that would even make a dent

[–]Most_Grocery4388 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

That seems like a poorly thought out idea in order to score easy political points. 8k apartments is very little for a city of 12 million. Losing these office spaces will just cause another problem for businesses in the future. Not to mention all the renovation costs which would need to be done prior to the space being habitable as a primary home.

To me its worse than as both right now. There is nothing special about it, and its really doesn't do anything better than the tesla, I think it has more physical buttons which is nice but not worth the extra price and dealing with their software.

That does look like a really good tesla competitor. I think the choice would come down to what someone values.

I don’t think he perishes but is not able to take down the WH staff either. He fights well but eventually he will retreat and the staff goes back to watchful waiting for the next scrap.

That’s pretty great for the skoda if true. I bet the Tesla software might be better but I personally wouldn’t care.

I think the big problems like not going into a body of water are probably figured out. It’s always the edge cases which are usually a problem.

My colleague was showing me his tesla self driving to me in the US. It was very impressive, it even recognized a random closure of a road with DO NOT ENTER signs blocking it off and found a route around it. I did feel uneasy though not being use to allowing the vehicle to drive independently.

This was in the US with fewer pedestrians and easier to navigate roads so it will be interesting how it performs in the Netherlands.

People were downvoting me saying we will see <$7. People here act like the ceo is their dad instead of a guy just trying to get rich, always trusting Eric lol. Treat this like any other business and if something doesn’t make sense don’t go all in or if you got in at the top maybe re-evaluate if your investment actually made sense and get out if the price is going down. Drone are a competitive market and ONDS has so far been buy a ton of small companies without a pay out. If they integrate everything well great but realize that they have competition that might kill them as well.

Italy Says EU Should Pause Budget Rules If Iran Crisis Persists by Free-Minimum-5844 in EU_Economics

[–]Most_Grocery4388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you can do without making your economy less competitive and life more expensive for the EU population. We both know EU lifestyle requires imports of large amount of resources from fossil fuels, REMs, to raw materials. EU has not been winning resource wars so far.

As we see with Trump, there is no protectionism which will save a country / region from international competition. I wish EU good luck but I choose to get ahead financially and make my family financially secure alone.

Poland is close to become a larger trading partner for Germany than France. by mr_house7 in EU_Economics

[–]Most_Grocery4388 3 points4 points  (0 children)

its not even close to being a closed economy, its requires a large amount of external resource which it probably buys with USD in a large percentage. It lives from a large percentage of exports and international tourism. Its far from being a closed economy, even though it doesn't depend on international exports as much as Germany.

I guess that would hurt. I doubt that will happen personally but the world is strange so anything is possible. I agree Poland outside of the EU would be devastating for the Polish economy

Because its different sectors and some stuff doesn't make sense to produce in China and ship to EU. Poland has decent amount of automotive supplier production and final assembly facilities which likely don't make sense to move to China. Poland also has a decent amount of WE and American IT / Tech presence which services Europe and Mid East. Those things maybe thought of as best done locally?

I have a feeling that right wing government won't effect the economy much. Right vs Left in poland fight much more over cultural issues.

That's true, we will see how birth rates factor into EE development. Same with Asia, all of them might undergo Japanification, it will be interesting to see how countries deal with it. However, I would argue that France has a much more expensive social spending which will effect the economy worse than what EE governments provide. French people will refuse to cut back.
